Welcome to the Channel! In today’s episode I replace spark plugs on a 2010 Saab 9-5 Aero. In cars with the 2.8 V6 you have to remove the intake to replace the spark plugs. This isn’t a difficult task, but it does add a few extra things to the mix to do. Removing the intake actually makes it easier to do than the plugs in a 9-3 with the 2.8 V6.
Tightening Torques:
Intake: 23 NM or 17 ft-lb
Tools Needed:
7MM Socket (or nut driver)
10MM Socket
10MM Ratcheting Wrench (not necessary, but makes it easier)
13MM Socket
Spark Plug Socket
Spark Plug Gapping Tools
Torque Wrench (I used my 3/8″ Torque Wrench since it has lower torques)
Small Flat Blade Screw Driver

This video is to be a guide to help people see how to work on their Saab. If you want to see the exact factory directions please look at the Saab Workshop Information System referenced above (WIS). That will give you the exact factory Saab tech guide to working on your Saab. This method incorporates tricks learned from years of working on Saabs. If you have any questions please let me know. Hey Joe! Great video! You can also add the 9-3 Aero's with the 2.8 V6 to this title. Same process. Those back plugs are a nightmare to do without pulling the intake. Trust me, done that. Busted the Brake booster line assembly in the process.
Good afternoon, where are you getting the maptune upgrade done?
Maptun Stage 1 !! That's awesome! Can you do some serious comparisons when doing the tune, before and after figures? Maybe 0-100 and rolling starts? 😉
