Would this be the same process if you’re putting an aftermarket knob on there? Or only for the actually replacement? I need to put a new one of cause the plastic fell off but I’ve seen some cool aftermarket ones I wanna get

Has anyone tried swapping the 9-5 shifter on the 9-3? Just curious I'm gonna give it a try!
With every video I realize that Saab is such a great car to work with. Very easy to change parts and its very user friendly. I had an Alfa romeo and to change even the smallest part you had to disassemble half of the car.
Before seeing this video, I tried to find online how to replace the shifter, but NONE as my 2006 9-3 had the same problem with the shifter, in which the aluminum cover has cracks that will certainly cut your fingers or palm when shifting. And some aluminum pieces fell off, I used some aluminum tape to cover the cracks temporary. Now I know how to take it out and replace it …. Thanks a Lot ! !
