Thanks for the extra information about the Lamp Controller. Just changed the bulb on my 1997 900 and no joy. Checked the fuses and swapped them round with no joy. The previous bulb would occasionally come on and the other side is working fine so will try jiggling the Lamp Controller next.

Hey man doubt you’ll ever see this but just wanted to say thanks like everyone else. Perfect vid that clarifies a basic task that might seem more intimidating than it really is.

this video would have been more helpful had the bulb change been done on the car and not on a workbench …

Dan, well done! Every time I’ve had to do this I review your video. Never can remember which way to turn cover and release the clip. Thanks!

Peter Juzwa says:

Thanks to you I was able to change the bulb myself and not remove the headlight which I was afraid I had to do. Thanks a lot!!

Stephen Greenspan says:

Dear Dan, It was not at all obvious to me how to remove the retaining clip….your video made it clear. It was getting dark and I needed that headlight. Thanks for saving the day!

david kaiser says:

thank you . I wish you were in the burbank area

JohnnyJazzFreak says:

Thanks, Dan. You’ve saved me money too. I could see the spring holding in the bulb, but in the Saab, with such limited space to move and to see, you can’t properly work. I’d even considered removing the battery just to get space to see why won’t this ***kin’ spring come out. I pulled it and turned it and squeezed it every which way. Why won’t it come out. How would you know the combo of actions needed? The manual just said remove the spring without telling you how! Chrissakes!

I’m new to the Saab story and your video was just in time. One of my headlights just went out. I now have the courage to replace both bulbs myself. Any videos you can add would be helpful

Thank you Peter. I spent an hour before giving up and looking online for help. After seeing your video I was finished in 5 minutes. What a great help! Thanks again!

hellback8 says:

Thanks Peter. I changed both headlamps in less than 5 minutes on my 2000 9-3 after watching your helpful video. You rock!
Thanks again,
Laura

Thanks for the tutorial. Hope to see more tips soon. By the way, is it safe to guess the “Z” instead of “S” is for legal purposes? Thanks again.

Robert Page says:

Thank you! I just successfully changed both headlights on my new 1999 Saab 93 C. You’re one of the reasons YouTube rules.

PetersZaab says:

Thank you for your comment, I’m glad to hear that I could save you money, look for more tips in the future.

Phelipe Souza says:

Dude, you just saved me $90! I couldn’t figure out what was holding in the bulb until I saw you remove the tab… I had given up and called a Saab dealership and they said it would cost me an absurd NINETY dollars… Thanks again!
