Do you find Permatex to be an adequate substitute for Curil products? I’ve never had a failure with Curil as long as I use it correctly ( I even use it in lieu of a gasket on my chainsaws to gain a bit of squish). I ask only ’cause I’ve never run across a VW or Porsche shop that used anything but Curil. And great videos. Been a long time since I rebuilt a flat six…nice bit of nostalgia.

This tech isn’t a real engine builder or machinist.

Steve Harris says:

You spend all that time saying how important the sealant is and neglect to say what number Permatex it is! They have multiple types. Hardening? Non-hardening? Semi-hardening?

Can you clarify? Thanks.

Anny oil on the head nuts?

U3erpru7ser says:

Isn’t that a bit too much gasket sealer?

Hello, Ebay has technical service CD for less than $10.00. I find these Cd to contain valuable information about 930 Porsches. Good luck. Subscribe to receive information on our latest video posts.

I enjoyed these videos. I just purchased a 1983 930 so trying to learn as much as I can. Seems most resources are on the NA carrera.
