►The 722.9 7G-Tronic transmission was Mercedes’ staple for nearly eight years. Each was supposed to have fluid last the “lifetime” of the transmission, but we now know that’s not the case. Servicing your 722.9 transmission is a must, and we have the parts and instructions to help you.
You should replace your 722.9’s transmission fluid every 60,000 miles, roughly. The exact replacement mileage is dependent on the use case. If you’re towing, shorten that interval. If you’re doing exclusively easy highway driving, you may be able to push that figure higher.
In this video, Danny Kruger, FCP Euro’s Mercedes Expert, replaces the transmission fluid and filter in a 722.9 7G-Tronic Transmission.

Why not measure what comes out and put it back?
Much easier
Can you point me to the older RWD CODE A89 7G Tronic (724.2) no TORQUE CONVERTER additional electric oil pump
I have one question: some of the videos of this transmission shows two magnets and in this video there is only one. I opened a 2017 gle350's 722.9 today and also only found one. Is this different between versions or regions?
I want to change the torque converter fluid also so how many total quarts or liters will I need. Also upon refiling what is the minimal amount of fluid to be in the pan before starting the engine when all the fluid has been drained out including from the torque converter? Don't want to burn anything up with not enough fluid in the pan and also how many quarts or liters need to be in the pan before cycling through the gears P, R, N, D I would guess at least 4 or more quarts? Thank you in advance
Great job! Thank you!
I did not see the torque converter being drained. Did you skip that step?
Цікава інформація дякую.
It’s best practice to drain the torque converter. Other wise some of the 5 bottles of fluid in that kit will be left over
Im planning to buy an E 250 whit 7tronic plus but i notise that gearbox oil only have bean changed once at 127tkm the car now has 340k on the clock .dont know why they have left this service when all other service has bean done .is it safe to buy this car and change the oil.i have only used 5g boxes and always change oil every 60k❤

If the fluid never been changed in 165k miles on this transmission is it safe to start now? 2014 GLK 250 diesel.
