Mike, this video is great! The drawing which shows the order in which to glue headliner is very helpful. Do you have a similar pattern for the installation in a sunroof equipped car?

Gary Hemmer says:

so, I have no clue as to the actual orientation of the bows, I am not the first one to replace the headliner. the two front bows are exactly the same length on my 1967 912. the third bow is longest and then the forth is just a bit shorter. I marked as I removed, is there a way to tell which one is actually placed where? also, there are slightly longer ends on one side. is there a proper orientation? ie the longer end fits to the passenger side? any help is appreciated!

Headliners… as soon as they arrive in a box, unbox them and lay them flat.. in a spare room in your house. When ready to install it, I lay it outside in the sun for an hour or so, usually on the roof of another of my cars, a dark colored car works best. really softens and takes out whatever folds or bends might be left in it.

Hi Mike, great videos! Have learned a lot by watching your installations. I was wondering if you have a video showing how you installed the A pillar trim? I did not find this on your other videos, the later ones show this trim installed. I am about to install this A pillar trim on my 69 and would like to learn any tricks to get it done correctly.

Thanks,
Mike

Mike,
Just finished my headliner install, I used your procedure, and it came out very nice. Great video!

Easier way to locate the rear view mirror location is to screw the screws in the place before you install the headliner also the same rule for the sunvisors etc, always draw a center line on the back of the material and mark the centers on the vehicle, pre glue the headliner with spray grade contact adhesive around the perimeter just some tips from a motor trimmer with 23 years experience

Thank you for going above and beyond to help the rest of us.

Clothes pegs work well for this too instead of contact cement
