Porsche 911 991 Spark Plugs 40,000 Mile Service – Step by Step DIY

In this video I change out my spark plugs on my Porsche 911 991.1. This covers all non -turbo 911’s from 2012 to 2016. You might be able to apply this to newer and older model 911’s. This wasn’t bad doing it myself with the correct tools. It will save you thousands on the 40,000-mile service.

It is worth changing the coil packs while doing the plugs

Keith Stone says:

Any thoughts on using anti-seize on sparkplug threads?

sunny46 says:

looks scary when you putting in the plugs using the air tool… maybe hand tight for few turns then air tool will be safer

Jon Peters says:

Just bought a 2014. previous owner said spark plugs were a PIA. Seeing this video let me know it's cake. Thanks!

Sean Denny says:

Nice video , did you do your belt too at 40,000?

James Fung says:

Great video with detail instructions and multiple camera angles. One thing though, I would hand tighten the sparkplugs especially for the first few threads. Using air tools from the getgo can be a costly cross-thread mistake. Ask me how I know.

How is a screwdriver a luxury?

Capital Exotics says:

Wow, this is exactly the walk through I needed. I’m due for my plugs in my 991.1 next season – thanks for doing such an amazing walk through!

Did you change the serpentine belt yet? I’m also due for that next season too – I only have 33,000km but I’m hitting the Porsche recommended time limit, belt looks in perfect condition, would you change it?

If you have do a walkthrough, that’d be amazing! Keep it up!
