INSTALLING WHEEL SPACERS | Porsche Boxster 986

If you want to buy an “I AM THE WARRANTY” shirt OR if this saved you a good deal of time and/or money and want to buy me a coffee or a beer, you can do those things right here: https://ko-fi.com/helpmediy

Went with 20mm up front and 15mm in the rear. Here are links to the set I bought (one with silver lugs and one with black). I just noticed they also have stud conversion kits! I would have gotten those if I had noticed.

Tony E says:

Looking great, toying on wether to get set wheel spacers at the moment. Have you had any rubbing issues on arches?

Julio Mendizabal says:

Where did you purchase the wheel center cover?
Thanks.

Chris Bode says:

Hi Aaron since installing your wheel spacers, do your front wheel tires hit the inner linings of the fenders when making tight turns?

Kristopher Teague says:

Where did u purchase these? Brand? Thx

Jim Kane says:

Where did you find those center caps?

Tom Klepper says:

Spacers look good – much needed. But the lug bolts they shipped you are conical seat bolts – used for aftermarket wheels. Stock Porsche wheels use R-14 ball seat lug nuts. You are going to want to change those asap or risk damaging your wheels and having your lug bolts back out…

Chris Bode says:

Hi Aaron, in what way did you determine the thickness of the front and rear spacers? The top part of each tire aligning with its respective fender, or just what looks good? In one of your comments you state that the handling/steering characteristics improved after installing the spacers. Sounds good.

Robert Hooles says:

Hi Aaron. This one has inspired me to do the same on my 986. I ordered them only yesterday so they should be here soon. I went for 20mm rear and 16mm front. Your car looks so much better for them, I’m hoping for the same result. Love your channel, keep them coming.

I noticed that you're tail lights look like a 981. Can you put a link to your source?

tom l says:

What size wheels are you running?

Drew32 says:

I want these for my 986! Why did you choose to go with the thicker ones in the front? Better fitment?

James Zilla says:

wow what a nice difference

John Baris says:

Some spacers are bolted to the main hub, then lugs are bolted to the spacers. You chose a direct hub (through spacer) approach. Is there any advantage, or am I misunderstanding what I have seen?

OctaneWerks says:

Do you have a Link to those wheel centercaps?

Francois Ducharme says:

Hi, I have the same spacers. 20mm in the back & 15mm upfront. The only challenge is that those bolts they give you are not the same quality as the OEM. I’ve noticed I need to re-torque them once every 2 thousand kilometres or so maybe a little bit more. I now torque them to 100lbs, not 96, and all is good now. No rubbing, looking great and slightly better driving and handling.
