That is exactly what I did….but the clamps have to be cut to pull the
rubber lines off. The barbed fittings are already on the fuel lines. The
new hose is SAE 30R9, as needed, and made by Gates. I’m not cutting into
the line where the gas is, just the clamp on the outside. It’s no more
dangerous than the line being in there with the hot engine.

Very brave approach…, line has gasoline in it and you creating sparks
?!?! Even a little bit of gasoline is enough to start a destructive car
fire that will have you replace half of the engine bay if not worst. The
best thing to do if some one does not want to buy the replacement kit, is
to pull the rubber lines off (not too difficult) and then use new high
temp, high pressure fuel hose and new barbed lock end fittings! Better be
safe than sorry.., just my $0.02…
