@tenoR4sax – yeah, you are absolutely right. Just recently the gland nut
blew off the strut housing and I discovered that there was enough clearance
to do it as you described. If I had to do it again, I would definitely do
it your way. Unfortunately, at the time I was following a manual.
Thats retarded. You dont have to remove the whole assembly at all , just
unbolt the top nut and take the plate off of the brake line plate that
connects o the strut assembly and then just move the top outside the wheel
well, unscrew the top assembly strut cap then reasseble the whole thing.
only takes about an hour and a half for both and you dont have to rebleed
brakes.
