Nice work! Good to see there are some good shops out there.

I found a page with repair instructions from a website here is the
address, I really liked how it was explained and made everything easy.

Thank you guys for all the comments here they seem to be very helpful all
of them.
I have to start with my repair today. I’ll be getting some shots for us
follow too. I try to do my best. I will be doing everything at my garage
and for what I see I will not just replace the hose that I was initially
told at the dealer but will get the whole kit. My cayenne has about 115,700
miles on it when it when out. the dealer was charging me the least in labor
900 plus the kit for about $13,000 and I can see the value on that. But I
will be doing this just for fun because I am a mechanic myself and love
working on cars. Today is Saturday Nov 9th 2013 around Noon.
Matt thank you for being so generous on posting this video at Autobahn you
guys are great!!

Codename73 says:

No, big con by Porsche, there is a massive class action suit against
Porsche to be legally held accountable as this issue is a design flaw. If
you had had it happen, get it done before it destroys your starter, etc.
Save all your receipts, once the suit is won (and it will be), Porsche will
be responsible for re-imbursing you. Just make sure you have the repair
done by Porsche.

Miguel Alvarez says:

Thanks for the Video …..I’m in the process of replacing this myself on an
06 Turbo. Got a few questions if you don’t mind. 1) How did you remove the
lower plastic pipe? They are easy to break, while removing the top ones I
had one break off. 2) How do you flush the system when you are done
installing? I don’t have a pump to test the pressure I hope I can one that
works with Porsche at local Auto parts store. Your tips and input is
greatly appreciated 🙂 Mike

I replaced my coolant pipes myself @ 57,000. I wanted to replace them
before they blew.

supra29 says:

That’s a Mercedes Tech hero Matt has my dream job.

Autobahn Eugene says:

Thanks for the post. Hope customers do get paid if the repair is done by an
independant repair shops like ours.

Autobahn Eugene says:

Awesome, you must be tech savvy to be able to do this job. Congrats.

Autobahn Eugene says:

@supra29 What Can I say? Matt is a very good teacher too. He has trained a
few rookies and did a very good job of it.

Autobahn Eugene says:

It took me a total of 8 hours to finish the job from start to end. These
vehicles do take longer to bleed to make sure there is no air pockets in
the system. Please subscribe to receive our latest videos. Thanks.

Autobahn Eugene says:

No, not at all. They have their own engines.

Autobahn Eugene says:

I have to look in to see if there is TSB and recall.

Codename73 says:

I have an 03′ Cayenne Turbo and can tell you that if you have a Cayenne V8,
it’s not a matter of IF, but WHEN will your coolant pipes leak. It’s a
design flaw. Matt did a great job, well done. PS, my pipes were done 🙂

GJJTexas says:

Are these still the 928 engines they used when they built the first years
of the cayenne?

GJJTexas says:

How come there wasnt a recall?

jr50hockey says:

how long di it actually take u ?

Autobahn Eugene says:

I totally agree with you. Thanks, we try our best 🙂

Self Reliant says:

I’d like to hear how you got the old plastic pipes off. What took me most
of the time was getting the large pipe out of the aluminum mating surface.
Nice video – wish I saw it sooner.

ssmithlprt says:

My hat is off to you for doing it in 8 hours. It took me 20 . Both ends of
the lower pipe broke off in the housing I used a small butane torch to melt
the o-rings and very gently tapped them out with a small slide hammer.

BJJgurl says:

Pretty involved and not a repair for amateurs. There is a class action for
this repair so if it succeeds there could be a reimbursement for flimsy
plastic cooling pipes.

Autobahn Eugene says:

Thanks. Trying to get those pressed in pipes is a chore and a half. Also
have to be careful not to let any broken piece get in to cooling circuits.

Autobahn Eugene says:

Hello, the pipe was rotted and broken, as such we broke it off and pulled
it out, it was not easy though.

Autobahn Eugene says:

With a little patience and elbow grease this can be done by the weekend
mechanics. Thanks for your response.
