Great job, started yesterday with the same conversion.
Getting the climate control cables down wasn’t easy, asked my wife to do it.
(her hands are way smaller than mine…she did it in a blink of an eye…lol)
Now its up to UPS (waiting for the 2-din kit) so I can finish the job.

thanks. you probably have a mk.II (2002-2005). i think the mk.II’s have the one piece trim. only small problem im having is that when i tilt the screen (to detach it) it is hitting the bezel on top. im afraid that this will break the motor. i need to sand it down or something. does yours hit too?
the alarm would beep (or honk) when i would lock the car. i read about this, it happens if you dont ground the brown wire. but i like it so i left it.
Did you have any problems with the alarm after the installation?
