Great Video – Saved all of us with the same problem a couple hundred bucks,
Thank You!
They lied to you. I got the part from auto zone for about $60 (you can find
it online for about 45) The whole job is just as this video describes and
takes about 15 minutes. Wish all repairs were this easy. If it is the fresh
air/recirc blendoor the part is Dorman 604-116
I think the Sillhouette would be similar, but haven’t tried it. You could
pop the top of the dash off to check it out.
Hey. Did this work on the Silhouette. I have a dead blend door and was told
the whole dash would have to be taken apart.
Looks pretty easy–will try to fix mine on 1998 Silhouette, Where did you
buy new part and what did it cost?
How did you get the cover out? Does it snap out and in? Are there scews
involved? Thank you for the video. It helped me alot about the Blend Door
Repair. My air conditioner is blowing hot air. Already put in a contol box,
resister, blower works, wires are good, put in freon and it still blowes
hot air. So my guess next the Blend Door. Thank You
Napa had the part. Other parts chains have it too, but local inventory will
vary on something like this.
