Oops! Sorry! That's a birthday cake in the radiator that slipped off the engine cover years ago and disappeared. Seen similar nastiness in 1980's-90's models with the old never been serviced green coolant that turns into a black sludge and rusty. A Proctologist would have charged at least $10K for the same procedure.

I have been thinking for some time now that yanking the engine for routine service on anything is the next phase for conspiratorial automotive engineering.

These are the customers who complain that they were charged an hour more than an internet expert told them it should take.

2 years ago, I worked on a ford van, 3/4 ton. Had to do a timing chain job. When I drained the coolant, black green snot came out..the owner used the green coolant crap..I had to flush the green black crap out 4 times..so it dont matter if its dexi or the green or other kinds of coolant. Its going to cake up. I flushed the heater and engine block before I did the timing chain job. The owner asked for the green stuff, I obliged and got the job done.

Have heard of people adding water from a muddy stream in an emergency

Geordo1960 says:

I think that radiator has ever been flushed. You needed a wetsuit that day…and a snorkel! Headlines read “Man perishes while flushing out radiator!”

FRANK DINARO says:

it should have come in on a hearse instead of a flatbed 🙂

binrat1962 says:

hey mr o…did you ever find out what the clay was? Was it stop leak of some sort?

G’day Eric and Mrs “ O “ and greetings from Tasmania Australia, I was subscribed a long time ago and I don’t really know why I stopped it must be my age 63. I couldn’t believe it when you took that radiator cap off, unbelievable how some people treat there cars it’s surprising that the bloody thing didn’t overheat and I can’t understand the engineering that went into that motor, what a pain the ass I hope that you charge them for all the other work you put into it. Anyway It’s great to watch your videos they are very interesting and with your sense of humour makes. It great to watch, I can’t work on my car anymore as I have rheumatoid and osteoarthritis and two bloody new knees so it’s great to watch you I have subscribed and look forward to your next videos, kind regards John
