Always a great video to watch. As an HPTuners beginner I'm sure these videos will be very helpful to me. I have a stock 3800 in my Fiero currently, can the base tune be optimized to have any benefit? I plan to upgrade in the future though, so first learning how to tune and adjust values just to optimize the base tune would be very helpful to me. I could also appreciate seeing how to set up useful tables in VCM Scanner and the proper values I should be seeing in sensor fields. Thanks for all your videos, they're always helpful.

Thank you for pointing out about the newer versions not allowing adjustability of some of the parameters. New is not always the best. For instance, I recently was told that the Catalyst Test option was removed or not made available for adjusting in the newer program versions. I would have loved a tutorial of this when I first tuned my 2000 GTP over 15 years ago. It would have saved me many hours trying to figure it out thru YouTube, reading Forum posts and figuring it out myself. For those who are new, set the basics first, set the parameters for your injectors if other than stock. At the very least, adjust your stock injector tables to reflect the amount of Ethanol in your fuel for where you live. For instance, where I live the Ethanol content is E10 or E15 depending on the time of year. Then focus on scanning smoothing, and uploading, repeating the MAF VS. FREQUENCY table a lot. I mean a lot! I'm talking of hours and hours of normal and spirited driving to gather as much data as possible. This takes a lot of time, but it greatly helps dial in how your engine runs. I hope Fiero Austin shows in detail how to set up all the different parameters for scanning in the next video. To do it proper, it would be a long video. Do NOT touch the timing until you have the fueling all dialed in. Fiero Austin, what you are calling "performance mode" is not for WOT. What you are actually referring to the Performance Shift button that was available for a few years on the Grand Prix cars. My 2000 GTP has it and I think it was available from 98-01 or so. It changes the shift points and transmission fluid pressures when activated. A do not believe this table will be available in all Series 2 3800 PCMs. Also, when adjusting your speed sensor, it depends on what internal Drive and Driven sprockets are installed and what final drive ratio you have. For instance, if you have a trans from a 2000 Monte Carlo, Buick Century, or a Bonneville and try to run it with a PCM from a Grand Prix GTP, the tuning in the Grand Prix PCM will be off and cause your trans to go into limp mode and your trans temps to jump to 240* in just a few miles. That is because even though they all are a 4T65E transmission, all of those transmissions all have different Drive / Driven sprockets and Final Drive Ratios compared to the Grand Prix PCM tuning. Physically the trans will work, but the speed that the trans is turning VS. what the PCM thinks the trans should be turning does not match up.
