Dack Janiels says:

Would I need an alignment after replacing my struts?

rdvalla says:

I’d just buy the complete assembly. You can get them on stockwiseauto, or rock auto as low as 60 a piece.

blackkat7073 says:

I just bought a strut / spring assembly for my Grand am. 300 for both rear struts. Wish me luck on the instal. Since I bought the assembly together I am glad I do not have to mess with compressing the spring.

2wrdr says:

How about using hose clamps on the springs just to the inside of the compressors so they cannot travel inward? Thanks for the video. I’m going to buy the assemblies with springs attached but if using compressors I hope the hose clamps might provide additional safety.

On my 2001 Chevy Malibu I changes the struts out on it but I did it the safer way the spring already installed it may have cost more but it’s alot safer and eazyer

jpm6382 says:

Allister Menefee says:

I like the old Eric. New Eric…. Not so much :(

brainstormer9 says:

Hey Eric, how much is a good price for just installation of all 4 struts? I was quoted at 160 per axle.

Why is he so afraid of losing an eye or a few teeth from flying clamps? Tighten those springs like a man! Show No Fear!

Andrew Short says:

THANK YOU! There is plenty of information for me on pulling a strut and changing out the strut and/or the spring. Watching it happen, live, in this video was about 75% of my inspiration to do this in my own garage. I safely swapped the springs in my Eclipse last weekend, did it alone, and ran into very few hitches along the way. With the proper planning, I was able to do it without impact tools. I still wish I had impact tools for that job, though!

Nice work, and THANKS AGAIN!

DanGan808 says:

Another great vid, Eric, thanks for doing this one! And btw, after watching how many of your vids already, I really need to invest in a 3/8′ impact wrench, man that thing would come in so handy! I plan to get one first chance I get 🙂

1pigslayer says:

great vid thanks man

Tippymann76 says:

Nice video. I agree that air tools make this job easier. I had a situation using hand tools and snapped the head off my pinch bolt. Had to drill it out and remove it manually. not a good day

krazor8 says:

dont some struts, or suspension setups already come with the springs attached??

Spike Awesum says:

Counter clockwise direction Eric, not clockwise! 🙂
Question, you always replace struts in pairs right? or should we replace all 4? or only one?

n310ea says:

The spring on that strut sucks, there isn’t that many coils, which means they break a lot.

Any chance i could get the size socket i would need for the bottom strut assembly bolts”big bolts” . That way i dont have to take off tire to check ? ? ?

Usernameinvalid16 says:

LMAO! Ohhff It happy top see me LMFAO!

creatos85 says:

hey man thats what i need but i want to put a coilover kit and idk if it is the same thing or not. what are u think ?

dillon14dj says:

what about the rear springs? the rubber mount thing in the center of mine is broken so over every bump it makes a loud noise

arguijoeloy says:

Thanks for making this video! Very helpful!

Art Guess says:

Hey Eric, love the vids, thanks so much for being a great teacher and covering everything like you do. I watch a bunch of these to DIY and yours are about the best I have found. Question though. Wt happens if u don’t line up coil spring with crease in rubber?? I put front struts on my 1994 toyota celica gt and don’t think I did that right.

Randy Hughs says:

u got a dog?

Justin Miller says:

Hi Eric, I am really glad I saw your video.
I tried replacing struts on my Grand Prix earlier this week and had to postpone due to having a heck of a time removing the fasteners. I am planning on trying again tomorrow.
Thanks for your help.
