I have a 98 sunfire gt but the engine layout looks different than this. There’s something else on the front section and it’s over the alternator making it really hard to reach

Wish I knew but we sold the car awhile back. I would call a GM dealer they should be able to tell you the exact size or may even have the bolt in stock.

or u can test the alt by starting the car then tak the positive off the batt and if the car dies the alt is bad

Should have a square in the center of it so something like a ratchet will fit in. Also should be the only pulley not attached to something (others will run AC, water pump, etc..)

They made it .1 mm to skinny to put the socket in there =/ Guess I’m gonna have to buy a skinnier one.
