How to remove an intake manifold water cross over. Pontiac Rebuild, Part 10

I got an Edelbrock Torker II, but need to remove the water cross over for heat reduction, and easy installation. Might as well do it now, while the engine is out. If you missed it, check out the engine tear down episode… the bearings were toast! In this episode, “How to remove a intake manifold water cross over. Pontiac Rebuild, Part 10” Again, a big thank you to @Butler Performance for coaching me through the component selection process, and porting my intake manifold. If you want it done right, get your engine components, entire rotating assembly, and/or short block from www.butlerperformance.com Follow along with the Pontiac 400 (Now a 470) engine build, by subscribing below;

I noticed on my Edelbrock cross over holes are smaller than the iron cross over. Where the coolant flows out. Hopefully this makes sense. I ended up opening up the coolant holes.

Don't let folks stear you're likes of chrome… and change who you are. A s I get older my taste needing chrome like I did in my teens and 20s is disappearing tho, definitely like the incognitoness of Engine race parts. Awesome build man!!

Moto_eighty4 says:

I want to do this I should have when it was off. Next time the intake come off definitely. I also have the rpm intake. I didn’t know u could get them chrome. I contemplated trying to polish it but it’s sooo much work. Great video as always mike!

LilRedChevelle says:

Ah man, I was cracking up at your intro! Great vid! Stuff keeps getting better and better!

Steve Brown says:

Great into and video as always. Only thing I would add is that you can make your life a lot easier and use a course carbide cutter which will cut through Aluminum like butta'. Mine cut so well, I took out the webbing in between the front and rear runners as well. Finish with the flapper wheel. I think you have it covered with your TB but while the manifold is off, some may want to consider drilling and tapping into the front of the plenum so they can route their PCV valve from the stock location to the manifold without an ugly hose running around to the back of a Torker II. Here is a link to the type of cutter I used: https://www.amazon.com/SpeTool-Carbide-Aluminum-Cutting-Non-Ferrous/dp/B06X9TXBYW/ref=sr_1_2_sspa?crid=2M0386ZBTABEK&dchild=1&keywords=carbide+burr+aluminum&qid=1626186160&sprefix=carbide+burr+alum%2Caps%2C183&sr=8-2-spons&psc=1&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUExUktBQU5CSzFCQU8yJmVuY3J5cHRlZElkPUEwODQwNDEyM1U5OTk4RjNFUlhZTCZlbmNyeXB0ZWRBZElkPUExMDI3ODQwMlFTRTg1WDQxVkRGOCZ3aWRnZXROYW1lPXNwX2F0ZiZhY3Rpb249Y2xpY2tSZWRpcmVjdCZkb05vdExvZ0NsaWNrPXRydWU=
