If the window doesn’t work at all you may want to check the fuse to see if its blown. If the fuse is okay, you may want to test the power to the window motor with a test light or an ohm meter to see if there is power to it, or at what point you loose power in the circuit. Hope this helps you out. Have a great day! 1aauto.com 888-844-3393 FREE SHIPPING in the lower 48 states!
i have the same problem with window not going up but down its not motor and i changed the switch the door harness looks fine heeeeeelpppp
Look to see if there is a blown fuse and replace it with a good fuse. We carry new window switches for many different kinds of vehicles on our website 1aauto.com 888-844-3393
So finding the part was kinda hard with a reasonable price and living in the valley we get a lot of rain. My boss told me I could take the switches out and paper clip the gap to roll up the window, while saying I could blow a fuse… so I’m looking for the 8 pin diagram, manual, etc. of which pin does what so I could roll up the window to unsure I do not get water damage in the passenger seat. Just until I can buy new switches…
Thanks for watching. Have a great day. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393
Thank you for this advice. I was about to flip my wig. Didnt know it was this simple.
You may want to see if there’s power going to and from the switch. Also check the fuses, and you may also want to check the wires that go between the door and the body of the van to see if any of them are frayed or broken.
I have a 2002 Pontiac Montana. The passenger side window will not go back up. Never really had any problems before. Will not work from either switch. I am was thinking maybe the motor…but there were no warning signs. Any ideas?
My driver’s side window wouldn’t roll back up and it was the first bad snow. I thought I was screwed. I watched this video, didn’t need to replace the switch, just had to jiggle some wires around. My window is now up and I won’t have to freeze my but off this winter. THANK YOU!!
The Grand Prix could be similar to the vehicle that we have shown. The repair process more than likely would not be 100% the same though.
this looks very similar to my 1998 pontiac gran prix switch. would it be the same procedure?
