Does everything seem to work okay and the bulbs are burnt out?

Mis Amores Hermosos says:

Let me know if it needs a bulb or do I need to replace the whole thing for
2001 montero sport. Xs

Mis Amores Hermosos says:

Hi I have a 2001 montero sport xs but the window power works but it won’t
light up as well as the a/c it works but only high med low switch lights
but the other 2 won’t light up can u please help me please

1A Auto Parts says:

You could try to put a little silicone spray on the weatherstrip that goes
around the window on your vehicle. That may help them to speed up for you.

GhostyMist says:

I have a 2003 Silverado 1500HD and all four of my windows seem to roll down
fine, but they take a really long time to roll back up. What could be
causing my problem?

1A Auto Parts says:

HI Richard, For the heck of it, check the wire harness between the door and
body of the car to see if there’s a broke or frayed wire which could be
causing this issue. Hope this helps you out. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393

Joey Waits says:

thanks so much for the video. Question: why is it necessary to unclip the
window and raise it up before proceeding to unclipping the spring?

debtfree1996 says:

Now I see a step I missed. The Spring!!! I know where I’ll get the part
when I get the motor out tomorrow. Big Thanx folks

1A Auto Parts says:

It will help to prevent it from sliding down on you.

1A Auto Parts says:

Thank you for visiting our auto repair channel on YouTube. Have a great
day!

1A Auto Parts says:

It’ll make it easier for you to reach everything you need to.

1A Auto Parts says:

You may want to check the switches to see if they need to be replaced.

1A Auto Parts says:

It may be the motor, also check for a frayed wire in the wire harness
between the door and the body of the vehicle.

Matt nicle says:

thanks man fallowed you step by step to get my window up got it done in 10
min.. so i could go to work. then found out that with my car. it is the
switch itself. not the motor. found it out before i replaced it. and now i
just need to buy like a 5$ switch for my car. thanks alot!

Richard Askew says:

I’m about to change the motor in my 1998 Montana I see that your window was
already down and you taped the window what if the window is already up so I
still have to tape it?

nh man says:

I have issues with mine stooping about 3/4 up and then I have to grab the
window for it to finish going up. I also get a real fast clicking when it
gets stuck. I get air leaks a lot now. No mecanic can fix it. It should be
a simple fix. Motor is fine, window is fine but it gets stuck and picky, so
what am I missing.????????

Jeremy Whitehill says:

03 Montana dr side windw does not Orkney all the time. Roll down it stops
and won’t go anymore, changed witch and I’d the same thing. I assume I need
to switch motor nextt?

radicallyforjesus says:

okay, thank you again for the advice!!

1A Auto Parts says:

The window motor is broken or a wire going to the motor is frayed.

turboconn says:

Great video.

1A Auto Parts says:

@nhoverhaulinfan2 in some cases, you need to do a little bit of adjusting
to get the window up to where it needs to be. Loosen up (but do not
completely remove) the window to regulator mounting hardware and roll the
window up. It should sit up a little better now. With the window up all the
way, retighten the hardware and see if it has fixed your issue.

Tonya Minnick says:

My ’03 Venture has a window issue. It goes down but not up on the passenger
side window using the passenger side switch. It won’t do anything if using
the driver side switch for the passenger window. I got a new, but used,
motor and it does the same thing. I have checked the fuses. What’s wrong
with it?

1A Auto Parts says:

@MrJudgekongo187 You may have to move it around a little bit, but they
should line up for you.

Jeremy Whitehill says:

2003 and Montana window stopped working thought we had it fixed but the
window would go up but would not stop, and then back down on its own. A
real pain. The second is issue is that sometime when you roll it down it
will not go back up. This generally can be fixed by turning off the car for
a minute and then turning it back on. The window will go up but you have to
let off the switch before it gets all the way to prevent it from coming
back down. Switch or motor or something else?? thanks

maia326 says:

We have a 1999 Chevy Venture and the window doesnt go up OR down. We
replaced the switch, and the motor. Now, we bought some alligator clip test
leads just to get the window down until we can get it fixed. It’s SO HOT
outside! Can you tell me where to connect it to get the window down?

1A Auto Parts says:

If there’s power to the passengerside window motor and it doesn’t move the
window motor may be bad. You could test the wire going to the motor with a
test light to see if there’s power going to it.

1A Auto Parts says:

You may want to check the wire harness between the door and the body of the
van, there could be a broken wire in there that is causing the loss of
power.

midobecker1 says:

Hello and thanks for the informative videos. I have been fixing some of the
issues on my Pontiac Montana 2001 thanks to you. I am not anything close to
be a mechanic, but I am getting it done. I have a quick question: The
driver window switch (driver side) and Power Remote Control Mirrors’ switch
do not work. I saw your video about changing the motor but I noticed the
motor is only for the window. The passenger switch is fine. Could it be
some type of short circuit?

1A Auto Parts says:

You may want to test the power going to the window motor with a test light
or an ohm meter, if there’s no power to the window motor. See if there’s
power to the switch, if there’s no power there and the fuse is good, check
the wire harness between the door and body of the vehicle for a broken or a
frayed wire to see if that’s the issue. It’s a common problem. Hope this
helps you out. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393

1A Auto Parts says:

If there’s power coming from the switch in both directions, then it may be
a bad motor. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393

1A Auto Parts says:

You may want to take the door panel off and take a look at the window
regulator to see if anything has come apart.

Duane Cook says:

had same issue with stuck window broke clips that hold motor now what do i
do?

1A Auto Parts says:

You may need to unbolt the window from the regulator and then push it into
place with your hand from inside of the door. We carry replacement window
regulators on our main website 1aauto.com.

Lance McLean says:

Super video. I also will be utilizing the one on replacing the side view
mirror. My driver’s side window won’t roll up but it will roll down. Do you
think that’s a switch or a motor?

1A Auto Parts says:

You should be able to go to your local hardware store and buy a couple
small bolts to hold the motor to the window regulator.

1A Auto Parts says:

@tntcampbell2008 I would check for a broken or frayed wire between the door
and body of the van. A broken wire would kill the power to the switch. Hope
this helps you out.

radicallyforjesus says:

Your videos are a total blessing and my husband and I want to sincerely
thank you. I had to plastic the window the other day because it went down,
but not up again. We were worried because we can’t afford to take and have
it fixed right now. My husband was able to get the window back up manually
thanks to you. Later when the budget allows we will see about fixing it. Do
you think the switch is most likely? After putting it up, we tested again.
It still goes down, but not up at all.
