Are those Mr. Gasket hood pins? Thats what I’m getting ready to latch down
the hood of my 83 El Camino SS with. Great job, never seen those on a Trans
Am before LOL.

RamblinAround says:

Yes, they are Mr Gasket hood pins. We picked them up at O’reilly auto parts.

The engine swap is in progress now. We have five parts up so far. The new
engine is going in the car tomorrow.

Eric Poirier says:

Hood pins are a good idea wether you “deered” it or not, it’s how i cured
the flapping hood on my ’85 GMC lol.

Devon Ramos says:

Looks great!

RamblinAround says:

Yes, we can still use the pins on a fiberglass hood too. Thanks for
watching!

Juan VV says:

Those things look like rust magnets….

I like the car vids and the train vids, but it was your string creations
that first brought me here. I’m guessing you’ve not made any new musical
devices lately?

looking good!

RamblinAround says:

Thanks for watching….great minds think alike I guess.

RamblinAround says:

We’ll probably end up with a different hood on it anyway, but we’ll reuse
the pins. I’m letting him decide what he wants to do.

RamblinAround says:

I’m letting him choose what to do with it. It will definitely see the track
at some point. We live really close to a great drag strip.

RamblinAround says:

Thanks for watching!

KITT171 says:

Nice, I love go faster pins. Do you plan on painting it or keeping it the
same color?

Jeff Woods says:

I bet he will get older and say why did i put hood pins on it.lol. Its his
car so let him do what he wants to with it. I think its screaming for 2
black stripes on the hood myself.I think he has planes for this car to see
the quarter mile one day.

creamofcardstv says:

Looks smart

Eric Poirier says:

nope, it cures that problem real quick, the corners on mine qould lift
about three and a half inches whenever i’d meet a tractor-trailer… a
little heart-stopper every time… hood pins are good for your heart lol

RamblinAround says:

Why’d you have to say that…now I’m going to have to check them every
time..lol.

RamblinAround says:

We’ll see what happens. We can replace them for like $15 or less, so it’s
not a big deal.

RamblinAround says:

Thanks for taking a look my friend.

RamblinAround says:

It is going to get painted, but we haven’t agreed on a color yet. We want
to get it sorted out mechanically first, then we’ll decide.

R.L. Natschke says:

I have had that happen once, but I just keep an extra set of clips in the
glove box in case. I learned from my buddy who had a beefed up Nova, and
came over with a pair of vice grips stuck to his hood to hold it down! lol
My car is just a beater corolla, and when the hood latch broke it was
cheaper to just do this, plus I admit I like how it looks.
