Cool!
I knew Richard Gere drove one of these….
Are those Mr. Gasket hood pins? Thats what I’m getting ready to latch down
the hood of my 83 El Camino SS with. Great job, never seen those on a Trans
Am before LOL.
Yes, they are Mr Gasket hood pins. We picked them up at O’reilly auto parts.
my dream vcar is an 88 firebird formula
Glad you like them…thanks for watching!
Thanks for watching!
Thanks for watching Jos!
The engine swap is in progress now. We have five parts up so far. The new
engine is going in the car tomorrow.
Hood pins are a good idea wether you “deered” it or not, it’s how i cured
the flapping hood on my ’85 GMC lol.
Looks great!
Yes, we can still use the pins on a fiberglass hood too. Thanks for
watching!
Those things look like rust magnets….
Looking good!
Thanks for following along!
Hood pins on a Trans Am. I’ve never seen that done before, looking great
guys 😀
they put the hood pins if it is fiberglass ?
Good work guys! Those pins add a nice little detail to it.
oh no you poked holes in it 🙁 nah on older cars hood pins are an idea for
sure.
I’ve seen a lot people do that too. Thanks for watching!
im gonna do hood pis on the rear hatch of my 3rd gen camaro
I like the car vids and the train vids, but it was your string creations
that first brought me here. I’m guessing you’ve not made any new musical
devices lately?
looking good!
Thanks for watching….great minds think alike I guess.
We’ll probably end up with a different hood on it anyway, but we’ll reuse
the pins. I’m letting him decide what he wants to do.
I’m letting him choose what to do with it. It will definitely see the track
at some point. We live really close to a great drag strip.
Thanks for watching!
Nice, I love go faster pins. Do you plan on painting it or keeping it the
same color?
I bet he will get older and say why did i put hood pins on it.lol. Its his
car so let him do what he wants to with it. I think its screaming for 2
black stripes on the hood myself.I think he has planes for this car to see
the quarter mile one day.
I have a honda civic this video really help me !!! Thanks
The 87 Pontiac Trans Am project is getting nicer every time you post a
update, but that’s the point of posting updates looking great… Thumbs Up
!! 🙂
Thanks for watching!
b&m shifter, hood pins – are you copying my build sir? lol 🙂 nice job,
adds a little bit of a tough look to it
Makes me feel better to know that the hood can’t come up at higher speeds.
Thanks for watching!
Thanks George!
Cool vids keep them posted watin to see the engine swap
Looks smart
nope, it cures that problem real quick, the corners on mine qould lift
about three and a half inches whenever i’d meet a tractor-trailer… a
little heart-stopper every time… hood pins are good for your heart lol
Why’d you have to say that…now I’m going to have to check them every
time..lol.
We’ll see what happens. We can replace them for like $15 or less, so it’s
not a big deal.
Thanks for taking a look my friend.
It is going to get painted, but we haven’t agreed on a color yet. We want
to get it sorted out mechanically first, then we’ll decide.
I have had that happen once, but I just keep an extra set of clips in the
glove box in case. I learned from my buddy who had a beefed up Nova, and
came over with a pair of vice grips stuck to his hood to hold it down! lol
My car is just a beater corolla, and when the hood latch broke it was
cheaper to just do this, plus I admit I like how it looks.
