Lol, always something isn’t it. I have some great stories too about stuff
like that.

midgetmayo says:

One time I cut a fuel filter in half just out of being bored/curious.. and
after doing that, I have never understood why there is an in and out. Looks
the same on the inside, and I really don’t think it would matter. But I
could be wrong.. I just don’t understand why it would matter.

James Eggerth says:

My dad would have put that fuel filter on wrong !! 🙁

ALLAN ROSS says:

i’ve seen mufflers installed backwards also as they put an arrow towards
the inlet and when you look at it you would think the arrow is the
direction of flow. fuel filters are one of the most neglected maintenance
items….as is the gear oil in the differential

midgetmayo says:

Well the one I opened up was off an old Safari van and it looks exactly
like the one on the Trans Am.. but agreed. I would install it in the
correct direction just incase.

sabrom says:

Alot of people miss the fuel filter when tuning up their cars and a
diffrence it makes when serviced corrrectly.

RamblinAround says:

Yeah, it’s not like it’s very complicated. Thanks for watching!

alberto gorin says:

i can t comment just watching it.this save money i have to go to the
dealership you also going to take away the rust under ?

805ROADKING says:

dripping fuel and an incandescent bulb!! Aye yi yi !! Ya never know what
you’ll come across when you buy something used!! Good catch!!☺

RamblinAround says:

It’s always a good idea to replace it. Thanks for watching!

RamblinAround says:

It’s amazing what people do sometimes. Thanks for watching!

RamblinAround says:

Thanks for watching!

RamblinAround says:

I may cut it open just so we can see exactly whats going on inside. I
suspect that you’re right though.

RamblinAround says:

It is amazing what you’ll find sometimes. Thanks for watching!

Gabe Musashi says:

i replaced a fuel filter once at my bro’s shop, what a fucking pain in the
ass, i couldn’t even smoke, I COULDA STABBED SOMEONE… sorry, little
nicotine deprivation flashback..

Darrell Roper says:

I guess that could not read the word out. Anyway nice thing is you got it
done.

Bo noneofyourbiznass says:

I wish you would have shown how to shut off the fuel pressure

BigRedOK says:

WHen do we get to see more of this? I’m dying to see more! Even if its just
a father-son cruising around beating the cobwebs out of this motor video.
haha

TheHondadirtbiker says:

Do you think we could get another barn/garage update? 😀 I really like
those.

camaron2one7 says:

Reminds me of the time we changed the fuel pump in my GTA, When we got the
tank out we found out the previous owner didnt even connect it to the
sending unit. So it was basically blowing fuel around in the tank lol.

Gabe Musashi says:

the one i did was on a 90’s saturn so it came loose pretty easy

RamblinAround says:

It was a little bit of a pain to get loose. The first time I tried it, it
wouldn’t budge, but the PB blaster helped break it free.

RamblinAround says:

On some filters, I don’t think it does matter too much. I’m sure it varies
depending on the design. I still feel better about it being installed in
the correct direction…just in case.

RamblinAround says:

We’ll be doing some painting underneath the car over time.

RamblinAround says:

I don’t know how they could make it much easier. I guess they didn’t look
at it very closely.

RamblinAround says:

I know, I know….our LED light was over in the barn. I was being extremely
careful with it.

RamblinAround says:

We’ll try to get some new vids up soon. We’ve just been busy with other
things lately.

XboobtubeX says:

I dont think installing it backwards will affect the fuel going through it,
but it might have affected the filtering job that it was designed to do. I
think its all about the “storage” area of the dirt/rust that the filter was
designed to have for any “bad” stuff that should stay in the filter.
