it took me 2.5 hrs. to replace the wheel bearing on the ground and broke some ratchets in the process..luckily i live close to a harbor freight store ; ) thanx for this vid. u should post more vid on this kind of vehicle or similar, like the chevy equinox!

APDTY says:

To be honest, I can’t recall the exact size that was used on this one, what I would recommend, is that you can often borrow a complete set from a local auto-parts store on what they call a “Loaner Tool” program, that will ensure you have the correct socket.

hi there, this vid. will help me a lot.can you pls. tell me the size of the “hub nut” on that torrent ??? so i know the right size socket to buy…thanx in advance for the info.!

Craig Plumbley says:

Excellent video. Before replacing my Torrent wheel bearing I watched this video a couple of times. The video made this job easy as pie. THANKS!!

APDTY says:

The hub could possibly be the cause of the noise, but usually a hub bearing will get louder and more pronounced as the speed increases. Also be sure to check your tires for any major cupping or unusual wear. If the tires are in poor shape, they can even make a grinding noise.

Great info. I’m getting some grinding noise out of mine while coming to a stop. At first I thougt it was my brakes so I inspected all four and the still have plenty of meat on them. Rotors and drums look good too. Could the bearing hubs be causing this grinding noise?

mracer11 says:

Put your spare on , it gives you access to the nut.

APDTY says:

It all depends on the size of the center caps on your wheels, if the wheels have a large enough center-cap hole, you can get to the hub-nut without taking the wheel off.

Joe Whit says:

How can I break the hub nut lose with the wheel on the ground? Doesn’t the wheel have to be removed first in order to get to the hub nut?
