RadioRex72 says:

What brand replacement shafts do you have the best luck with?

Quentyn73 says:

Not a good vid. Axle is not nrssesarily bad if the boot is torn, ypu dont
need take it apart to ou the boot on

More350Power says:

Great vid!

madmonkey35 says:

Thanks man you really helped.!! I know what to do now!

qqwpp673 says:

Thanks alot from Saudi Arabia .

PUboiler29 says:

Great video. Yes you can buy a cheap refurbished axle but they usually last
a fraction of the life of the original OEM joint. If you’re a little
proactive and replace the boots on OEM joints before they tear, you only
have to deal with axle issues every 150,000 mi. Once you go get the cheap
refurbs you describe, you’re going to be replacing joints every 40,000 mi.
Just my experience…

tyler24ist says:

thanx for the help. I ripped my boots when i was changeing my ball joint
and my control arm. I had no clue how to get it apart. Cuz i’m not machanic
and I hate paying someone to fix something i can do myself.

Rheanne-Jade Gadot says:

thanks a lot man ur cool, that is very good explanation maybe next week i
can do mine..salamat…

xempt. one says:

chad rogers says:

things apart! thanks, great skills u got!

Joarek81 says:

Thanks for the vid. Answered my questions 🙂

bah53 says:

I usually just buy the cheapest one I can find and haven’t had any problems
yet. The last few ive gotten have been Cardone

Jx1x3 says:

why grease up and reboot it if you didn’t even clean it?

bah53 says:

@mdkgod43 A parts washer works great but if you don’t have one you can use
some diesel fuel or gasoline (be careful and don’t burn down your shop) and
then spray it down with brake cleaner.

Steven De Ruyver says:

clutch! bang bang bang bang!

johngelsomino says:

What a mess….just easier to pay the extra 35 dollar for a rebuilt unit.

bah53 says:

yeah thats probably best, if its making noise the joints already screwed

Dawson Schild says:

I did this on a friend’s 89 Accord, his passenger axle was clicking pretty
badly, we found a good one at the junk yard with a torn inner boot, so we
put a new boot on that, and put it in the car. Saved around $20 buying the
axle and boot vs buying a new axle. I don’t like rebuilt axles anyways,
I’ve had too many of them break on me for no reason.

viggoM35 says:

cost…. unless it’s an 80s BMW 325iX and the axle cost $400+ dollars…
lol 😉

V8Jagnut says:

good vid. this is why i dont drive a FWD.

bah53 says:

usually not a whole lot

pantherxx010 says:

its not that hard to replace or repair them. and they do last long time
than before.

Billy Smith says:

Thank you very much. good job. Great point on putting the clamp of the
shaft FIRST. LOL Thanks again you really helped me .

p4rtn3r says:

When I changed the joint on my car I had the same type of clamp you’ve got
there and what i did was put them on and squeeze them until they locked
into the square holes by hand then got a pair of side cutters and squashed
that little nub. and they haven’t come off yet. it saves buying special
tools.

Bradjd56 says:

@bah53 thanks a bunch

Bradjd56 says:

ok so i have to replace the outter cv joints on my car would it be the same
process for any axle just remove the boot and that clip? the repeat in
reverse with the new parts? thanks

giovanny gomez says:

Good job!!!! This help

Ricardo C. {authmaax} says:

tha clip.. is so simple most people seems to … simply wack them off with
hammers not all are that easy removed are they?

afscmeman says:

This has shown me that the best option is CLEARLY to buy a new axle! Thanks
for the vid.

ben munson says:

anyone have a cheap way to get the bands clamped?I was thinking of grooving
a pair of vise grips at the ends

wafrederick says:

Better off buying a reman axle than replacing the boot saving time.

michael marcellus says:

@bigredchnl20 that was an abortion. How’d he get the clip between the shaft
and the joint teeth out and in? at least he admitted he didn’t know DICK at
the end. I respect that

ArgosWarrior says:

@mdkgod43 Petrol works well

bigredchnl20 says:

nice,i heard clutch!!!!!!!!!!!

pokefreak91710 says:

REBEL2250 says:

thanks alot for the vid! i think i’m gonna have to get a whole new axle now
since the boots been torn for a while and its making noise whenever i turn.

jmurray01 says:

very informative

bah53 says:

@Bradjd56 Most of them are similar to this, I won’t say they all are
because I haven’t seen everything but most are.

bah53 says:

@evilneverdies88 The boot on the other end is called the same thing, its
just a different style constant velocity joint on that end.

seanybealeo says:

You are the man seriously saved me soo much hassle

iwantbob says:

Cheers mate! It’s the clip I was after. Thanks a million from Scotland.

John27346 says:

Great video. How much oil leaks out of the transmission after the shaft is
removed?
