3:17 that engine must of been freshened up earlier i dont think the factory
used 12 point fastener for the con. rods. But I could be wrong.

Ives done a bunch of research on the bolts to use for attaching it to the
stand and everyone says 3/8s 16thread, Is that right for all engines? which
bolts did you use? Thank you,

Oldsmobile V8’s were indeed equipped with 12-pt nuts on the rods when they
left the factory. One of the many differences that make it a cut above…

3/8″ Bolts are correct for that engine but not all engines use that thread.
The Cougar in some of my other vids uses a 7/16″ bolt. Newer stuff is
probably metric. No matter what the bolt size I like to use a minimum of
grade 8 bolts.
