How to install an HEI distrubutor in your Oldsmobile 260, 307, 330, 350, 403, 400, 425, or 455 V8, including how to find top dead center firing without removing the valve covers. Olds V8’s were produced from 1964 to 1990. If you are converting from a engine that had points distrubutor, you will have to run a new keyed power wire to the HEI, as I believe the power wire to the points style coils were resitor wires and won’t provide full 13-14 volts. Once the distributor with the cap and wires is installed, and you have a starter connected and power to both, you can use a timing light and set the initial timing.

Great video I have a question I have a 350 Ricket is there suppose to be a small gap in between the distributor and block or does it sit flush? I can't seem to get it to sit flush. There's a small gap just after the seal goes it it stop.
