Man, this video was like one of life’s great shortcuts. My Olds Van has the power sliding doors, but my friends get frustrated when we come to a stop, the doors have to be unlocked to do the sliding door, but they just yank when I haven’t unlocked it. Unlocking from the drivers position is essential to keep the sliding doors from being janked by idiots. I need new friends, but at least I can unlock from the drivers side now.

YOU ARE THE MAN !!!! This fixed the unlocking problem and I found the light blue wires were for the lock from a previous comment. Fixed them both in 15 minutes. Props !!!

100 thumbs up to you, it worked for me, now i got to fix the pass side window as it wont go up or down with either driver or pass side switch. Is there any wires like these for the window?

You solved my problem!

And I might add that I own a 2005 Venture so it’s the same principle on that model also.

I figured out that the white wires were for the “unlock” mechanism and the light blue wires are for the “lock” mechanism. Both functions didn’t work so I tried the white ones first and it solved the unlocking problem and then I did the light blue ones and that solved the locking problem.

Now everything works fine!

Thanks a million from snowy Quebec!

Question: does or did anyone have weak or not enough power to operate their power door locks? For my truck the locks seem to click but no action and the more you press the lock button the weaker the reaction? does this sound familiar? I would like to know before i dig in this weekend? BTW thanks for the vid!

Edgar Gee says:

Jimmy Ryan says:

Thanks ! Fixed my problems ! also i might add that there is a set of light blue wires just like the white wires for the unlock circuit in the same harness they were also corroded on my Venture . Question ? – the doors lock when moved out of park , why dont they unlock when put back in park or ignition key turned off or removed ?

Chris Schroeder says:

hey my 2000 pontiac montana door locks go on a spaz attack every once in a while and when it does that if you slam your foot on the passanger side where the you pulled the carpet where the wires lead is there a fuze that could go bad our something plz it has gone on for about 6 months and it is really bad if someone is in the car waiting while the car is on you cant get back in the car it unlocks and relocks the car non stop plz my family need help

Glad to hear that. Come to our site for more great info !!!!!

supensunny says:

Omg. I replaced the switches and nothing. It wouldn’t work on either door. Do you have any idea how much money you saved me. Thank you so much.

greatautohelp says:

Why would yours screw in? They dont have screws, unless your has been messed up, and someone ran screws through it to hold it down.

kambc says:

My doors would only unlock when I put it into park, the front doors only and it would do it automaticly. Your solution worked, there was moisture there. There is another sky blue wire with a splice in the same moist area, I wonder what thats for? But I left it alone. Thanks for the video.:)
