How do you get the dash out around the steering wheel?

You saved my life with this video. There is nothing on the Internet for changing the switch for this specific vehicle. You’re doing God’s work, truly

If I change just the part you show in the video, does it have to be programmed, or is that just if you replace the actual key and lock cylinder?

Dude this is exactly whats wrong with my Aurora.I was just slowly letting the key back to ON and not letting it go to OFF. Now that I know what's wrong I can fix it with your video. THANKS!!

Joe Doyle says:

My ignition switch on my 1999 Olds Aurora went out last week and I needed to know the basics on replacing the switch. This is the only video I found specific to my car. Thanks for taking the time to put this together. It really helped save me the cost of taking it to shop; a couple of hours or more of labor plus a $210 switch. I found a NOS Delco switch on Ebay for $100 and I saved a lot thanks to your video!
BTW, I found a 3/16" deep well socket worked great for the steering column male Torx screws.

Pete Mote says:

Nice Video. Very informative for 98' olds as well. This should be good for 95 to 99 olds. Wasnt sure if it was the Ignition Lock or the Ignition Switch. Sounds like the Ignition switch is what controls the spring back of the key in the switch. The female Torx wrench is what you are referring to. Those are the star sockets you picked up. I take it this fixed your problem.

As far as the ghost lights flashing and draining battery's this is the MultiSwitch. I've cleaned mine with contact cleaner numerous times. They will go out and these have to be replaced at some point.

Joe says:

Hey gonna take a chance that you will reply cuz this video isn't that old.. Do you have any idea why after putting on a new multi switch now when I brake the Hazard light flashes on the dash, but they don't actually flash the lights… And my traction control randomly turns off
