That's a case of "don't torque it until the vehicle is on the ground" and then forgetting to finish after the vehicle's on the ground.

Aren't tie rod ends and ball joints supposed to have castle nuts with a cotter pin to prevent this exact thing?
Scary, could have been very bad. Always use locknuts or cotter pins on suspension components
I had a local shop almost get me killed because they didnt tighten stuff after an alignment. So you may think this is not a shop that did this but it could have been.
Customer declined service, states "i know a guy who can do it cheaper"
Not the first time I saw this while doing alignments
I've seen and heard of mechanic shops not doing their job correctly as well it's not just your buddys or family members that don't pay attention after putting new parts on vehicles
You are getting paid to fix the persons car, not put it on YouTube.
Its become a bowl joint.
That tie rod end was made for the driver side, or its upside down
Is that not supposed to have a castle nut with a pin?
