Nissan Jatco cvt transmission fluid needs to be changed every 40,000 miles

@DDayDark says:

Heres a good way to make transmission last longer never buy a car with a CVT. CVT is a automatic transmission that shift smothly., almost seamlessly as it can do this on the fly hence it's full name continuously variable transmission. I just think CVT are not proven and have been know to die frequently. Compared with normal transmissions maybe one day this will not be the case but at the moment I still think this to be ture.

@07028 says:

Those CVTs (like the one in my Dad’s 2010 Jeep Patriot) do not have the best reputation. He drove his fairly hard but he got sick of me doing the JT preach (“service your transmission to prolong its life”) and ignored me. Trans failed at 80,000 miles and I bet it would have gone longer if it had been serviced at 40,000-50,000 miles.

@tarruspowell9212 says:

Love all your videos JT. Powell’s Mobility.

@internallyinteral says:

I had a juke transmission start to fail at 60k. I will never buy a nissan again.

@GeneG-wk2mz says:

Do you change it in Toyota Camry I need mines done ?

@dfields9511 says:

On Nissan cvts I would change fluid. Every 30k even if it says 60k
and. Never do a flush unless it’s a 3x drain and fill for a slow flush

Gr8 vide as usual. At least it had a dipstick sorta

@dfields9511 says:

Asin (Toyota) CVt transmissions use a traditional. Geared transmission for 1st gear. Then after that it switches to the CVt transmission

@gregreitan3634 says:

I drain and fill once a year. It's only $25 for a gallon of Valvoline Max Life cvtatf or Castrol cvtatf, I have used both fluids in my Honda CRV's, and no they haven't blown up or had any problems.
Seems like cheap insurance to me.

@vbarbee1 says:

11:11 naw, you're going to wish you didn't use that gasket. It's going to leak in a few weeks.

@vbarbee1 says:

7:05 I was just getting ready to say big mistake using that gasket. If you're going to get factory fluid. You might as well get the filter and gasket from the dealer.

I’m a Ford guy, but I enjoy listening to mechanics for all makes and models. If we’re real every manufacturer has their good and problem vehicles. So as I’ve gotten older I don’t slam other manufacturers because there not Ford. Anyway enjoy your channel and always up for learning things that you and others provide.

@LilYeshua says:

I've read that CVT's can't handle the power and the Rogue engine has more horsepower than the transmission can handle. I've always had my automatic transmission fluid service every 47K miles and almost all off my driving is highway. I did however have one fluid service oil change shop refuse to give me the full service transmission fluid change and opted for the traditional partial fluid change on one of my vehicles('04 Chevy Tracker which is a Suzuki Vitara with Chevy badges. It has over 200K miles on it with no issues and no leaks.

@MrTwone79 says:

Im surprised to see you talking about something other than a dodge lol

@plainpsycho1 says:

My wife has Nissan rogue 2018 and the car has 186,000 miles on it. She’s never done a transmission service on the car. she bought it brand new with 4 miles on it. The car runs good and leaks or issues, would it be safe to transmission service now?

@mygolfballsannoy says:

4:04 nope.. nissan fluid only

@mygolfballsannoy says:

Stop racing stoplight to stoplight.. Drain and fill every 20,000 and you should be good
