I wouldn't mess with the steam line, on .y Frontier it was brittle plastic and I ended up having to replace that hose as well, the new one I picked up was at least metal

Do you need to drain the coolant?

So I got a fluctuating temp and my hot air takes a while to get warm. But I don't have a check engine light. Possibly my Thermo is going out? Has 81k miles

Super helpful video with excellent clear instructions! Thanks for the help and for the tips and tricks about burping the system.

Cliff Porter says:

Do you have a video on how to replace that hose that you removed to bleed the system? The jar was cracked so I had to replace it. It came with that hose but I couldn't get it off because It was pinned under the fuse box which I couldn't figure out how to remove. I'm also surprised you were able to remove that hose without breaking that plastc barb on that little canister looking piece going into the firewall. It crumbled when I tried to wiggle the hose off. I had to replace heater hose assy across the firewall, but lucky NAPA's replacement was Aluminum. Much better part than factory!

Mr. John says:
