How is it that you made the determination that the coil was bad, or was it?
I have a D21 that I suspect is the coil.
Thanks

I wish you would have mentioned keeping the reluctor plate right side up during disassembly instead of reinstallation… I was following along and I have no idea which way it came out because I just set it aside. I would have marked the top. My fault for not watching the whole video first, yes, but now what do I do?

Thank you 1A Auto for making this video! Was able to change mine without a hassle after watching this.

A few tips:
– Yes you can (and probably should) do it without pulling the whole thing out. Makes it go much faster.
– He's not joking about that little disc – be careful with it, it's quite flimsy!

That's all. My vehicle is running much better now 🙂 Thanks again!

I cant find the parts anywhere. Took my coil pack and ignition coil out in about five minutes. Just a phillips head screwdriver and they call the parts "non servicable" wtf.

How did you unscrew the main one in the middle ? Please help

Ernest Jones says:

This also applies to the first generation Xterras. I have replaced the shaft upper bearing in my distributor, common failure as well. Bearings are a few dollars whereas the oem distributor is several hundred dollars. My coil just died recently and replacement coils are very inexpensive as well.

Erik Really says:

So why did you take out the whole distributor out ? I recently got my changed and they didn’t do all the steps u did and it only toons them like 8 mine to change …just asking because I’m planning on buying a new coil and kind of forgot how to do the way mechanic done it.
