BlueHen123 says:

nice, what tools would I need?

Dennis Mitchell says:

Thanks for the help, now the problem I have is there is no heat, how do i
bleed it?

Sean Bouchard says:

Thank you so much Brian! All of the mechanics in my city wanted a total of
$375 to do the job and they said it would take about 4 – 6 hours to do
because the job supposedly required “special tools”. You have definitely
saved me time and money now seeing I can do this job myself on my 96 Nissan
200SX. I love hoe the video is step by step and you kept it updated with
more information as you carried on. Again, thank you, you are a life saver,
kept money in my already strapped wallet and saved me so much time and
effort!

Richard Saxby says:

how did you support the motor from underneath?

Mamdouh Arar says:

How to do amwater pump on a nissan

hp11208 says:

is it the same on a 97

briansmobile1 says:

@jboydmv90 Nope. They aren’t.

Tim Branch says:

There is a hose that attaches to the water pump that has a molded hose that
attaches to it that has two 90degree turns in it. Correct? Mine is a 1993
Nissian Sentra XE. It’s leaking. what’s the best way to change it?

leonvhs005 says:

Nice it helped me out in changing my water pump thanks a lot

jboydmv90 says:

Those upper motor mounts are not cheap lol

briansmobile1 says:

Either a water pump impeller, low coolant, or the fan is bad.

Charles Gerber says:

brian i need your help i took pulley off and belt to power steering and
water pump belt i see tention screw but not working you got any ideas

briansmobile1 says:

@bassmanb3 You’re welcome. Thanks for stopping by and liking the video.

Le'William Heath says:

Question. Where is the thermostat housing on a 96 nissan sentra? I don’t
wanna take the wrong thing off. I been fixing on other models and it’s
always toward the front. On this one that’s not it. Help Please.

briansmobile1 says:

Está nevando! Estoy muy feliz. De nada

briansmobile1 says:

@ivanbgct Yes. It’s a GMB, but marketed as a Duralast. I really like them.
I’ve been using them for about 9 years now. Look for a “falcon head” and
you know it’s good.

briansmobile1 says:

@mrflgreen It’s much the same. I pull it out the bottom. If you undo the
engine mount and lower the engine down a little it helps.

briansmobile1 says:

Symptoms: Overheating, antifreeze smell under the hood, dry bearing noise
Diagnose: Fill with coolant, get it warmed up to operating temp., check
below pump pulley using a dentist mirror on a stick and a flashlight. Look
for a machined hole straight down from the pulley that is wet with coolant.
If it is- replace it. also if the pulley wables it’s toast too.

Alexis Stafford says:

Thanks for the help! I don’t know what I’m doing but at least I know where
to find the pump now:) It’s not something I can mess up too bad, is It?

briansmobile1 says:

@5ELIOT4 off or on?

Curt Simshauser says:

Right on, Thanks!! 5 stars

briansmobile1 says:

C #2 is too low. It’s either a head gasket fail or just worn valves/seats.

Jacqueline Palencia says:

Question: so i only have to remove the 3 bolts of the water pump portion
that is between the water pump and thermostat bypass hose? Thanks again for
the video. Very informative. I will be doing the same to my Nissan “powe
ranger” this weekend.

nemesismachine says:

Great video, looked everywhere for this EXACT information. Had to change it
in a middle school parking lot, and with this video it was done in about 20
minutes.

jmcaveman79 says:

What about removing the water pump belt, and the pulley? Your video starts
with the pulley and belt already gone.

briansmobile1 says:

@aamir0744 You’re welcome. Thanks for “liking”

briansmobile1 says:

@Noshkanok I don’t, however if you test fit it with the bolts placed such
that the threads touch and leave the bolts sticking out- you can determine
which ones go where and swap them holes as needed. They should all have
about the same gap between the bolt head and twist kiss surface they snug
in to.

mataji scott says:

hey this is very helpful however can you show me how to change out the
thermostat?

briansmobile1 says:

@bcwldr80 You’re welcome. Thanks for saying thanks and good luck to you!

iman says:

Did you just install a Duralast replacement water pump?

felplay vina says:

Hi Brian I have 01 Nissan sentra 1.8 with cylinder # 2 misfire I did
compression test C# 1 161 C# 2 142 C# 3 158 C# 4 160 how can I know is the
head gasket? is this difficult I always been fix my car and this does not
look like too hard to fix it..

Johnie Grindstaff says:

I am replacing the water pump in my car and having issues with take the
Harmonic Balanser off. When I try to take of the giant bult I cant keep the
Harmonic Balanser from spinning. Any ideas? Or am I just doing something
wrong?

briansmobile1 says:

@bluegap81 Great job! You’re welcome!

briansmobile1 says:

@aamir0744 You bet my friend.

iraneazad33 says:

How do I know that I have water pump problem?

Richard Saxby says:

@rcssaxby thanks man

briansmobile1 says:

@Matlike1 When pumps fail it’s USUALLY a leak from the seal. However
occasionally (more often on Volkwagens) the impeller blade fails. To test
for this you follow the heater pipe line to the heater core and take it
off. Then start the engine. If it pumps out fluid about the same rate as
your garden hose then you know the pump is good. To test this one I used a
pressure tester to pump the system up to 14p.s.i. and the pump leaked.

briansmobile1 says:

@BLAQUEZAK HARD TO SAY. I DOUBT IT.

briansmobile1 says:

Crack the bolts loose first on the water pump. Then remove them and both
come off.

Jacqueline Palencia says:

Good video I’m going to due to my power ranger this weekend my pomp os
ok.the part behind is cracked I change the thermostat and I cracked when I
was putting the screws back in

wmkfisher says:

I take it that it would be a little easier to take apart if I were to jack
it up right after I take the motor mount off? Otherwise great video and
thanks for saving my ass
