Rohan Blake says:

I used youtube as a tutorial to change and replace my rotors. Youtube is my
go to site when i have any type of issues not google search

Diego Lopez says:

What about bleeding the brakes don’t you have to do that too?

Johnnysshop says:

C-clamp should work fine.

Johnnysshop says:

Thanks for watching! Sounds to me like the pins need lubed not allowing the
pads to kinda float in there. The pads in front and behind the rotor should
move somewhat freely.

theallusivebaker says:

I changed my rear drivers side break pads because it was scratching the
rotor, but only the outside break pad was worn out to the metal the inside
break pad still was fine. Any idea why only one break pad would wear out so
fast after only 4 months? Great video by the way it really helped!

intercooler2 says:

C clamp for 2008 Spec V or does it take the tool to twist the piston in?

JOSEPH DAVIS says:

How do you replace the rear brake caliper on a 2003 Nissan altima sl 2.5
motor?

Johnnysshop says:

Thanks for watching, hope it all goes well for ya!

Tony Tone says:

I want to try this. 100$ in parts and tools this Could save me 340$. Thanks
friendo

Johnnysshop says:

Thanks, glad I could help! Let me know if you have any questions.

J.M. Ilano says:

Johnny Thanks for the Video. Trying to save $100 in labor to replace rear
pads on my 2007 Altima. Took to Goodyear for a check up and they said rear
rotors also need turned would it be better just to replace the rotors along
with the new pads. I ordered Akebono rear Ceramic Pads for $50 and I can
get the rear set of Bendix Rotors for $60. Goodyear wanted several hundred
just to turn rotor and replace pads. I figure I could do the same for $110
if I do it myself. Thanks again Johnny!

Johnnysshop says:

Yep, as long as it’s not rear drums.

Siueti Tupou says:

When changing your front brake pads is it the same as changing your reae
break pads???

Johnnysshop says:

@tchhom Is it on the rear? If so, yes there is a e-brake. Could be stuck on
the lip of the rotor. Smack it a few times.

Johnnysshop says:

Might want to heat it up with a torch. It’s probably rusted on.

Johnnysshop says:

Nice.. At least it’s done!

Johnnysshop says:

Yeah, you should.

Javier3032010 says:

Thanks for the video its really descriptive. I was going to take my 06
Altima to the mechanic but now after watching your video I’ll do it myself
🙂

Dan Keefe says:

Any ideas or suggestions?

Johnnysshop says:

@MrBobguy49 Thanks! Yeah, I’ll try not to.

whi0019 says:

@nyymarisfan i had the same problem just kick it hahah or use a mallot

Johnnysshop says:

THanks for watching!

Johnnysshop says:

Hmm.. Odd. What yar?

Harley-Payj Leatherman says:

Thanks for the post mate. Shouldn’t be too much trouble now to fix. Just
one thing, the area with no sound should have captions. But I only say that
because I know nothing about vehicles and would love to know what certain
things you said there. But thank you anyways, mate!

Johnnysshop says:

Yeah, the audio is messed up on the video and that’s where I explain a gear
wrench like the on shown is ideal..

Joseph soto says:

Pads replaced

Johnnysshop says:

Probably the clips that go on the back of the pads to reduce noise and
whatnot. You can just reuse the old ones really.

Johnnysshop says:

If you are just changing pads and rotors, no need to bleed. The harm in
taking the caliper off would be getting air into the system. Any air causes
the pedal to feel spongy, which requires you toe bleed them.

Johnnysshop says:

Depends. Some cars you can, some you have to take both out. You could
always just try to take the top one out and see what happens.

andrew mata says:

@Johnnysshop thanks!!, that was very helpful. you are awesome!

Christian Perez says:

Very helpful video. Definitely gives me more confidence in changing my
rotors on my car in the near future.. Thank you!

joven6666 says:

gracias amigo esto me ayodo mucho .

Johnnysshop says:

I would readjust them. Some squealing is ok but not grinding.

Johnnysshop says:

Yeah, it can.

marcin97 says:

My emergency brake keeps lightly grinding noise on the new rotor. Should i
adjust it manually or give it some miles hoping it will go away? New pads
and rotors were installed on 07 Altima.

Johnnysshop says:

@tyny0106 Thanks!

Johnnysshop says:

You’ll have to take the caliper bracket to put a new rotor on. This video
is for the rear so it should be the same.

Johnnysshop says:

Maybe they changed it since 2008. Not sure why they would. Very odd.

Coco Gonzales says:

Great video. Thanks, just one detail, To pull the rear rotors off your
Nissan Altima 2005you have to set your parking break OFF to remove them
otherwise it won’t let you to remove them.

Kalpa Gunaratna says:

thnx alot, I will give it few more days.

Johnnysshop says:

Thanks for watching!

Drummerdude19821 says:

Separate, not desperate. Damn auto correct.

AirmanJeff says:

just take a hammer to it, mine were pretty rusted on so it took a good
whack to get it off. You won’t damage anything but the old rusty rotor.

MarctheBarberNYC says:

Great vid. Thanks

Joseph soto says:

Does that ruin the pads. Like I said, it’s only been alittle over 10,000
miles.

Cesar Garcia says:

My rotors were a pain in the ass to take off I had to use a hammer to take
them off
