Had an 06 Altima SE R. Loved that car. Those VQ engines were great. Had very little problems with it. Rest of the car not so much. Due to a design flaw both floor boards had rusted out and had to have patch panels installed to keep the water out. Not even 70000 miles and the lower control arms and tie rods were already showing wear. Hated to sell it but I had too. My first and last Nissan.
I traded my 2019 Honda Accord EXL in for a 2021 Nissan Altima and i absolutely love it!

Cars would get much better mileage if they weren't so damn heavy & overly complicated
Honda CR-V has a 1.5 liter turbo engine / CVT as well, so maybe not such a great alternative. Granted it's a 4-cylinder, but it's the one they've had oil dilution problems with in the past; supposedly that's fixed. On the one hand, it's unbelievable Nissan would mess with their bread & butter grocery getter like that, but then again, they haven't exactly had a good track record with reliable designs since the Renault take-over.
