Being that this is an old fashioned system (pressurized radiater, vented res tank) I started it after the rad was almost fool, heater on, fan on low…. kept feeing it coolant but kept the level low as when the thermostat openes up the level can rise and overflow. After doing this, I shut the engine off let it settle….. topped off the coolant and replaced the cap. Drove it for a couple miles with the heater on and it basically if there as any more air, it bled out through the res tank
I replaced it after I flushed the system with fresh water and left it in while the engine ran letting the fresh water rinse through the entire cooling system. I then removed it and continued to run the engine while feeding it clean water to make sure everything was out.
Hey my car is a 2005 and has nearly 67K miles on it and I still have the factory battery. lol
Shouldn’t laugh. I plan on replacing it soon.
