thanks for this video…. i check mine up and….. no air filter at all !
looks like the first owner of the car remove the filter or something… so
all my evaporator (little radiator) is very very dirty with a lot of leaves
and bugs 🙁

Dennis Rankin says:

Great vid! thank you

Doug Ashley says:

Thank you for the very helpful video! I just replaced the filters on my
2002 Maxima GLE.. other than getting the glove box back into the correct
slots/position it was a piece of cake. This video was a lifesaver.

filterheads says:

You’re welcome! We’re glad you changed that filter, a filthy filter is bad
filter!

createcoms says:

I assume a RHS maxima would just be the same but on the opposite side of
the car. Can you get filters which have superior filtering to the OEM spec
(as in, they filter smaller particles)? I own an A33 Maxima (RHS)

joe24chevy says:

Oh Yes this video made it a whole lot easier. Previous owner most likly
tried to do it on his own but failed. I bought my Maxima on Feb, 2011 as
the Second Owner. (Bought car at a Nissan dealership with 125,751 miles on
it. The only thing that failed on this car was the Radiator. Other than
that, I have been doing regular maintenance to prevent other failers.–>
Air filter, cabin filter, fuel filter, spark plugs and so on.) On todays
date, Im at 148,395 miles and working smooth as can be.

filterheads says:

The Maxima takes the AQ1140 filter, and should be the same procedure as the
Altima video that we have for that filter. The YouTube like for that video
is youtube.com/watch?v=6sOGGf4C17c

filterheads says:

I don’t know about getting a filter that catches smaller particles. Our
filters are made to the specifications of the OEM filter, however you could
also get a charcoal filter that catches more of the odor.

filterheads says:

If the cabin air filter hasn’t been changed in a long time (or ever) it can
get clogged with many different things. I haven’t heard of a burnt smell
before but changing the filter would be a good first step to see if it
resolves the issue.

Eric Kimberlin says:

What happens if they are not changed? I know mine have never been touched
and the car has very high miles on it? Thank you

Francel Olivarez says:

how often you have to replace your filters ??

myhouse888 says:

do you have vid for 2011 maxima cabin filter. thanks

Joey Lee says:

Thanks for the video – instructions are perfect for my Maxima SE 2002. Had
a bit of difficulty though getting the glove box lined up on the right hand
side during reassembly – if the bottom right is not seated correctly, the
top right will be too high and will not snap back into place. My old filter
was disgustingly filthy 🙁

raughn3 says:

How do I get the screws out if they’re stripped.

BLOODREAPERZ NINEELEVEN says:

the filters work better if the arrows were facing you , and pointed up.

createcoms says:

No, pollen filtration is desirable in addition to dust (allergies like
hayfever).

brianalvarado7766 says:

If the cabin air filter is old would a burnt smell come out the heater?

filterheads says:

The filter the air that comes from the outside of you vehicle so that you
are not breathing in any pollutants. A good example would be the pollen
that fills the air during the season. Those particles would get caught in
your filter and wouldn’t make it inside you cabin for you to breathe in.

Mark Ness says:

Thank you so much, I just replaced the filter for the first time in my 2002
Maxima, was filthy. The dealer and AAA wanted about $80 to do it, I bought
the 2 filters at a local parts shop for $22.99. 5 places didn’t carry them
and tyhis place had 1 set left. It took me 15 minutes. Thanks again for the
video.

filterheads says:

Ouch! I hope our video made the process much easier than it was for the
pervious owner!

joe24chevy says:

I have a 2002 Nissn Maxima SE and it was okay to replace. It would have
been a whole lot easier but the owner before me I think tried to replace
the cabin air filter but stripped the Assembly screws and then it looks
like they tried to actually rip the Assembly out, so it took atleast 20
extra mins on the whole process. Now it’s replaced and feels better in the
car.

filterheads says:

You are welcome!

Graham Whatmough says:

All you need out is dust, if you have odors clean your car 😛 Just kidding,
but no really clean it. FRAM makes one infused with Baking Soda, not sure
how well it works but thats all they had at Canadian Tire when I bought
mine today. Thanks for the video guys!

juaritoz31 says:

What’s the purpose of those?

bigdog7013 says:

ONE VIDEO FOR THE 201O MAXIMA PLEAAAASE .. THIS THING IS EATING ME ALIVEE

filterheads says:

The original filter has an arrow pointing up. Our filters have an arrow
showing you the direction in which the air is flowing. If you install the
new filters with the cross braces towards the drivers side you will be
installing it correctly.

filterheads says:

I’m sorry, when I replied to you comment I didn’t realize which video you
were commenting on. the AQ1093C filter that we sell is a charcoal filter.

Julie Sherman says:

Do all 2000 Maxima’s have in cabin filters? And, would a clogged filter
explain why we can feel coldness but not be getting any actual air flowing
into the cabin? I’ve check fuses for the blower motor and think this would
be the next logical step (and least costly) before having the blower motor
replaced. Thanks!

createcoms says:

how do I find out about the charcoal option?

nikko1299 says:

will this work on for 4gen And what kind of cabin filter do i need for it

filterheads says:

You are welcome!

filterheads says:

Our information indicates that the 4th gen Maxima doesn’t have a cabin air
filter.

filterheads says:

You should replace your cabin filter every 1 year or 15,000 miles. If you
live in an area with a lot of smog or around a lot of trees you might want
to consider replacing it more often because you’ll have more debris that
may clog up the filter.

Jorge Zamora says:

The Arrows come from inside or outside? He put inside

gailm1923 says:

Great instructions! Does there have to be a service message on the glove
box somewhere. We have a 2000 Nissan and I was not able to see any kind of
message. Thanks!

myhouse888 says:
