mandolinshoop says:

Usually not. Generally one wheel won’t force out the fluid. You only need to go back enough to get it back on. Generally not as far as for new pads.

mandolinshoop says:

Could be the dust cover rubbing the wheel if it is a light grinning sound. Take a screw driver and peck it through the wheel in a few places and see if that does the job. My Nissan rubs every time I change the brakes.

kickers185 says:

That was a very helpful video for people who don’t have a press

OGNattral1 says:

Hey nugget I have an 04 Maxima like your working on and my shop did the same thing you did but they had the press that you mentioned. Now I have got the job done because my wheel bearing was making the metal to metal sound.. Now that I have change the wheel bearings but I’m hearing some light noise from my passenger side now.. Might I need to adjust my brakes or could it be a bad hub being that I only changed my wheel bearing..?? Get back and thanks in advance..

opsvideo2008 says:

Thanks man for showing your video which the normal person can actually do the front wheel bearing replacement without using a press.

Michael Salazar says:

Very useful video!

Picodroid says:

Will removing the brakes as shown require the brake lines to be flushed and refilled? I’ve seen videos describing the method for changing pads, and it appears that reseating the caliper piston forces out brake fluid, requiring the whole system to be flushed.

Doing this job and placing the same pads back on, will I be met with any issues?

Nick Vollaro says:

Great vid! What airfield you live near? Pretty busy.

KillerZero259 says:

hey 2012nugget, great video man! love how the instructions are clear and crisp!
I do have a question though. at 10:10, which lube do you recommend using before smacking in the new bearing into place? I saw WD-40 on the side, but I just want to make sure

2012nugget says:

Absolutely

Steven B. says:

Great Video. Used it today to get bearing out of a 2008 Hyundai Sonata. One question. Can a bearing be bad/noisy but not really appear to be damaged once you get it apart?

SuperJeffreyjr says:

thank’s man good video it really help me i’m going to save $100. to $300.

Phil Rodriguez says:

You have really good skills, and teaching ability thank you for the shared knowledge .

Timelapse My GoPro says:

Great video. Helped me with a 2005.

2012nugget says:

Depends on the one doing it, experience level and tools. I can do one in about 45 mins. The average joe arround 4 hours.

Mike Menard says:

How long for this job?

badjuju98 says:

Is this beginning part of this video also the same for removing cv axle. Is there any problems or things I will run into when I replace the cv axles in a 2004 maxima. Thanks

2012nugget says:

Not needed.

Abelino Corral says:

After this is done will the car need an alignment?

2012nugget says:

I love the press.

Joe Parker says:

Great videos man. Its funny because I have the same issues you do, as soon as my car starts acting up I search your videos and there it is. I had an issue with rear bearings as well, couldn’t figure out which side. Turns out both sides were bad. Replaced, note my car no longer sounds like I have mud grip off road tires. Thanks for doing this the hard way, you convinced me to buy a $50 press off craigslist which made it way easier.

fah411 says:

This was very helpful. Thanks man for taking the time to make this video.

Subscribed just for that reason. Thanks for the video/time/info.

Nathan says:

My 350Z was a 32mm. You probably have the exact same.

elpaparobert says:

Nice video! I have to do mine on a altima 99 , and I was wondering if the process will be the same?

maxima2fst4u says:

you can put the spindle in mine was bad but it just wears the bearing out quicker where the spindle inside the bearing is moving some just next time it goes bad just try to find a spindle as well when you replace your wheel bearing is will next time last long as the car and make sure you get the higher brand if possible the cheap ones are tooo soft of metal

valter mendez says:

my mechanic was only going to change the bearing, but now he also says the spindle needs to be change, can I just put the new bearing in the old spindle?

Steve Nabi says:

Dude, you are awesome. Well taught and great angles. Thank you. You Sir, ROCK !

2012nugget says:

The wood will dent causing it to push on the bearing sleeve which is bendable. The race will not bend or dent.

Dadecounty Mike says:

Why didn’t you just put the other wood on top of the bearing when putting it back in and hit the wood instead of the racer?

valter mendez says:

I got a nisan maxima 97 and I need to change the front wheel bearing, is is the same procedure?

47refugee says:

Hi can someone help me please ? I have a maxima 95 the other day I ran over a thick tree branch and ever since then my right wheel side makes a clicking sound when driving 25 to 40 mph and it does it the most when I take my foot of the gas

George Grant says:

This guy is a pro !

2012nugget says:

I cannot recall , sorry.

rickii2010 says:

hey what size is the axel outer nut on these cars?

ConceptVBS says:

I think it would’ve been easier had you bough the entire bearing and hub assembly together. I’d spend the extra money to have that all together. Just my thought.

peter sarbu says:

Thank you I saved 200$

Mike Steen says:

It does, but only about 1/8 inch. Just give it a good wack on the side of the old bearing and it will fall right off of there

Mike Steen says:

2012nugget.. once you get the new bearing installed into the knuckle assembly and everything is ready to be put back together.. how do you get the male part of the hub into the inside race of the new bearing??

adetheblade100 says:

nice vid….maybe a dumb question, but when you install new bearing and tap it down all the way home with the aid of the old bearing, doesnt the old bearing become `re-fitted` again albeit a small way into the hub? more importantly, how do you get it out again? said it was dumb !! cheers Ade

Jean Dodard says:

Thanks for the tip. Much appreciated!

2012nugget says:

Very similar, im not certain when the start date was, it could be 2000 or 2001. This is very similar to all nissan replacements though.

Jean Dodard says:

Will this be the same steps to perform for a 2000 Nissan Maxima as well?

2012nugget says:

Yes sir it is.

John Cancer says:

I really got a lot out of the video! I have 1 question is the 05 Altima v6 set up the same way?
