How do you check the timing on this motor. I can't even see the timing marks from above. Is there a way to see it from thru the wheel well?

i have a 2011 nissan sentra SE-R and i have a sound coming form my car, the car place i took it said that the timing belt needed to be replaced. it sounds like when a train breaks kinda.. i cant really describe it. it could be a grinding noise. any advice?

Just bought a 93 nissan sentra 1.6 b13. It runs perfect but leaks oil from crank seal onto alternator. I cannot find any info on this, if u cud help I'd sure appreciate it

Wanted to thank you for the video . I bought a 1998 Nissan 200sx for $1,200 the car is intact only 123,000 miles. I new the timing chain was knocking and i took it to a mechanic and said he would fix it for 580.00 so I told him to hold off. I brought it home and look up some you tube videos and thankfully found this video. Did it myself spent $60 on the tension-er and the knock is off. Next year I would like to spend the 580 to do a timing chain kit do you think its worth it? Again thank you for the video!
Thank you for this video. I just purchased my tensioner and will do this repair tomorrow. …the video didn't show the tensioner being removed or replaced. Is that step simple. Are there any things to be aware of. Any tricks.

Yeah really wish you would have given us some idea of what it sounded like before and even after the fix and what the mileage is 2 very important parts of this story.. There was no sound clip of before and 2 seconds or so of sound after the fix, I mean I've got a clatter sound coming from mine but I can't be sure that this would fix it because I don't know what yours sounded like before or even really after.. Very frustrating. But either way at least you showed the later half of this dilemma right and that is very much appreciated because even though you didn't give a sound clip of the sound of the engine before or even really after the fix I'm still pretty sure that this is the problem with mine..
I replaced the chains on my 94, that had 246,000 plus miles. The new chain and tensioners woke that motor up! These cars are worth every penny if you maintain them!

i think i have the same problem do you have a vid on what it sounded like?, i thought maybee it was the belt tensioner as is not a constant noise, second you made this look ez , is it as ez as you made it look?
