That is quite interesting. Thank you.

Dan Frederiksen says:

Regarding the BMS board, I’d guess it needs to be thoroughly washed, then
rinsed for a long time and then dried in an oven. I once made a PCB and
cleaned it with water and let it dry completely but the micro didn’t work.
so I baked it a little and then it worked

HonestJohn60 says:

If he bought it right & if the all the electronics are cheap to replace,
like all the battery management boards, It’s a great score? – But down the
road, there’ll be connections that will give him trouble. I want to believe
that the ECM is ok?? Their very well sealed, & if the power to it was shut
down, theres a good chance to save it? – Not easy to test without a reader
just for this car. A zinc tab or 2 might help against future rust? Still
the main motor has not been tested? – $25k car?

HonestJohn60 says:

Do these cars have a master breaker to shut off the battery feed when
flooded? – You have to stop that oxidation! – Baking soda & water, or this
liquid stop rust you can apply with a pump sprayer and primer over.. Also
the inside of the door panels could of got wet?

pretty cool, taking that apart is like digging for gold…

Dan Frederiksen says:

Don’t turn it on, take it apart! : )

Dennis3Run says:

Can you do a video of checking the voltage of the cells ? Hope you read
this comment 🙂

bobert4him says:

I’m no expert, but around youtube I hear the correct pronunciation,
phonetically is “EYE-meev”. Just sayin’.

BenjaminNelson says:

Sure I can, but it’s just using a multimeter and shows nearly zero volts.

Bob Vance says:

Can’t wait to see the results.

Dennis3Run says:

I thougt I could see more Voltage. Than a video about this is useless.
Thank you. This project is very interesting.

bobert4him says:

That’s a good idea. We still don’t know what Ben’s intentions are yet. I
suspect he still needs to decide what is worth saving yet.

BenjaminNelson says:

It’s an acronym. Why anyone would want to name a car with an acronym, I’ll
never know! Not sure there really is any “standard” pronunciation with
acronyms. I have to admit that “Leaf” and “Volt” are both easy and obvious
to pronounce!

BenjaminNelson says:

Take a look at my blog, I have some photos of cleaning up the BMS
