Steven Bowen says:

NorCal, you seem like an ace at figuring this out. I tried this, all of the components in this unit have been replaced; and the amber lamp light is still blinking instead of powering up. any thoughts? is there a better forum to ask you on ?

Karen Weagle says:

We just did this repair today. Worked like a charm. Thanks for helping us save our TV.

norcal715 says:

they are not polarized it does not matte

Kirk Sellman says:

I cut the wires, but I’m not sure which ones to solder together. Does it matter, or is there a way to figure out which is which?

norcal715 says:

check fans and lamp door switch, also ballast power and control lines.

CobaltSS04R says:

I got my tv all put back together after doing this but now my lamp light is blinking yellow and tv won’t turn on.. Any ideas?

harmony667 says:

Mine does exactly the same thing, except for the message. It is one of the models listed. Any thoughts? Thank you. Great video.

Jason Shreeram says:

Want to thank you for this. You solder way better than me so it took me a little bit ti get the wires connected and you may want to warn folks to put something over the lamp so they dont drip solder into the lamp holder. All went well and I’m running like a champ again. Great video.

Jorge Tanory says:

Thank u so much was frustrated with airflow message viewed ur video clipped wires and no more airlow message or tv turning off by itself thnx again

Nathan Miller says:

Yeah I got it back working but in this particular instance it was the actual thermal sensor not the inline connector that was not working properly. So I finally got it turned back on and had the same error message haha. This is definitely worth a try though

kaycerae80 says:

Thinking about trying this but saw your comment and a few others like it. Were you able to get it to work?

CosmoBlondie says:

Oh! Thank you so much for making this video I am so greatful!! My husband was able to fx our tv! I was ready to take it to the dump I was so frustrated with it. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

uhuhuh0 says:

OK, now I see. Great video and information.
thanks

norcal715 says:

The sensor is still in circuit, just the faulty inline connector has been removed.

uhuhuh0 says:

Aren’t you concerned that running this TV without the protection of the thermal sensor? Seems it could be possible to cause some major damage to the set and maybe a dangerous situation without the overheating protection.

vhaholler says:

Nevermind I had to put the back cover back on and now it is working fine

vhaholler says:

Nathan I just did the same thing and the lamp light is blinking as well. Won’t turn on. Never had it blink before.

Nathan Miller says:

I completed this step by step just as you did and now the television won’t turn on at all and the lamp light is blinking orange. Any suggestions?

zaprodk says:

It’s quite interesting that the connector for the DLP light engine is just a bog standard DVI-connector 🙂

zaprodk says:

Probably just the contrary. Bad connectors where almost no current flows, will develop bad connections over time. If you have higher current running, it will break trough the oxide coating.

Dean Martin says:

Incredible, wanted to charge me $300 dollars for something that literally cost me $3.50 and took about an hour of actual work. Thank you for the video.

Jorge Enrique Martinez says:

Thanks for the info. I’m about to try this after battling with this issue for years.

tmorris72 says:

Thank You! I was a little intimidated, but I got the job done. Saved me some money!!

JCMEnergy says:

Great video. I fixed the WD-73734 “overheating” problem (no message on screen – only flashing status light) with this video. The layout is different but there is enough here to get you through it if you are not scared.
I doubt I could have done it without this video.

playstation2bigs says:

is there a toyota tv ???

DizzzyKipper says:

Thank you for another informative video.

ubuntututorials says:

Nice video. Interesting, why would that particular connector fail, but others tend to be reliable? Excessive current?

Retsu Ichijouji says:

Good job, keep those videos coming!!
