Lancer 2006 ES, same procedure. Couldn’t release that ’round holder’ on the left in the glove compartment because I was pushing the whole box downward. Once I lifted up the box a little, I was able to remove that thing..
So true closemonhey89, these things are great but do require regular maintenance or risk damaging your blower motor.

They’re really easy to forget about and neglect… I just bought a used 02 lancer, and by chance, I seen it behind the glove box when the recirculate flap was open. And boy was it filthy… So people, please remember you have these things or you’ll risk the chance of blowing up your fan motor as he mentioned in the video.
