what is stator of ganretor? ?

MrWati25 says:

Thanks alot, I just went ahead and changed out the starter, Oreilly Auto
parts tested the starter for me and they said it failed the first test and
passed the second but the bendix was no good. Got the new one on there and
it starts right up first try and alot faster.

SteveXnycperformance says:

Did you perform a `LOAD TEST` on that New battery recently? Battery
technology will fail to product the Hi-cold-cranking amp to turn the
Starter motor. A battery can be fully charge with 12.5 volt and retain 10
cca. Most V6 engine will require anything over 500 cca.Have the Battery
`LOAD-TEST` to make-sure its still in top performer like New. If battery is
good, then the vehicle might have a faulty motor switch or the armature
could be stuck by foreign objects or worn-out brushes.

MrWati25 says:

Thanks, Its not the battery tho, I just got that battery less than a year
ago, and everything in the car electronic works fine when I turn the key.

MrWati25 says:

Do you think If I remove the starter, open it and clean it thoroughly and
replace it on the vehicle would it work or do you think from the symptoms I
described I would just be better off replacing the whole unit?

SteveXnycperformance says:

1st Try and check the battery for optimum performance. Here a video to help
you with that : /watch?v=YCZMhOta_pE You might have a defective battery or
a corrosive/lose connection.

MrWati25 says:

Have a 97 mitsubishi diamante, first symptoms of starter problems occurred
a few weeks after doing an engine wash. First the engine would turn slowly
and then start, when hot it would turn even slower, and I sprayed some
electric parts cleaner on the terminals and it worked a little better for a
few weeks and now today I tried to start it cold, and it turned way too
slow to start the vehicle and I tried until all I can hear now is the click
and its not turning anymore.

SteveXnycperformance says:

It always best to replace the whole unit. When parts are difficult to get,
them modified to the parts might be required.
