Congratulation on making it to our final installment of this Lancer front bumper replacement series. If you made it here without watching our previous 2 videos, you probably know what you’re doing and probably can’t remember where that extra bolt goes, HAHA. It happens to all the real mechanic/collision experts ;). This is a very easy install, we were very excited to do it after replacing all the bumper components. We’re not a fan of rivets. If you don’t know, watch our previous video. This is super easy, so let’s dive in!

TOOLS NEEDED:
Your wonderful self. Also, 10mm wrench or socket wrench and a Philips screwdriver.

INSTALL PROCESS:
Often times in accidents, the plastic brackets will break or crack. This particular one was cracked and the customer also drilled her old bumper with wood screws to secure the bumper. Replace any parts as needed and especially, to be safe. Don’t get hurt, we love you. Now, once we replaced the bumper brackets or bumper retainers, we mounted the bumper. Be careful not to hit your fender with the bumper corners. It helps if a friend can guide the bumper on one end. The bumper will sit below the headlights and snap-on below the fender, on those fancy brackets you may have installed. Make sure the long plastic bracket goes underneath the headlight. The bumper should easily snap in place, do not force it or hammer fist it until it is flush with the adjacent parts. Now you can begin to secure the bumper to the frame. We recommend starting at the top. This way the bumper will not fall down for any reason. Work your way to both sides by the wheel well and towards the bottom. Our customer did not want to purchase the lower engine cover but don’t forget to install yours.

Does this install process description seem short to you too? Well, it’s because the process is easy to do. Make sure the screws and clips are safely secure. Take a step back and make sure the spacing on the bumper is perfect. You are done! You’re a certified body-collision pro now. Well, no, you’re not and we’re not. But, you can remove and install parts on your Mitsubishi Lancer now and that is pretty cool. We knew you had it in you!
