do most modern sub amplifiers take the high level inputs you are showing?
i’m trying to do this but i need an amp that will do 1000rms @ 3ohms for a
12w7. Any advice will help. I’m in no way an expert on doing audio
installs, but the only times I’ve done a subwoofer install I was fortunate
enough to have RCA outputs from the headunit to the subwoofer amplifier so
I’ve never had any experience with the high level inputs. If you can
recommend an amplifier that would be great.
Nice man hey what kind of amp does the factory amp have how many watts?? i
have a evo x with the 10in and i want to add other sub to it
what was the song that you were playing
do you also have the stock sub working along with the JL audios?
No the stock sub was disconnected as I used the signal from it to the new
amplifier.
@dafamlay I used the same thing I did to this one for when I installed my
subs into my lancer before I upgraded to my kenwood HU. I didn’t want to
under my seat. Yes the enclosure for the outlander is different than the
one for the lancer.
it has the stock battery and alternator.
What kind of alternator and battery do u have in this car?
could you please why you put the fuse there and why did you modify it?
Yellow + blue – and red + black
thanks i really liked this video
@KVT10 no problem, It doesn’t take that long the hardest and longest thing
is running your power wire. It takes me about 4 hours but I like to have a
clean install so I take longer. No the subwoofers didn’t inlcude the amp
but I got a deal because I bought them at the same time (visions) along
with the amp kit. These JL are good, they give good bass. It won’t matter
which one you buy you can use the same wires from the factory sub for the
signal but you will need a aftermarket amp.
the reason for the fuse is because the stock radio doesn’t have a remote
wire, the fuse is to protect and turn on the amplifier as I have it wired
to a switched fuse in the panel. As for the wiring to the amp I had to
modify it to allow the signal to go to the new amplifier as the stock radio
doesn’t have rca outputs.
no,i am saying for the wires before the stock amp. which one i will cut to
put to the converter? the LEFT LINE IN +/- and the RIGHT LINE IN?
@ROCKSTAR7riley no problem
Also where did you get the ported sub box
@neil591353 they are quite nice for this car
hello! i have a Lancer 1.8 10′ with rockford sound system on it. i bought
yesyerday one Rockford Fosgate Power 1500.1BD amp and one magnat subwoofer
800W/250W RMS 4Ω load. as i can see,you have 2 subs and the wires where 2
for each sub. my sub has 2 wires, what should i do? can i slpice them
together so i can get 2 wires at the end? thanks!
Im assuming you are talking about the four wires from the stock rockford
sub? the reason it had four wires is because its a dual voice coil sub. You
can use those as your high level (or use a converter to rca) input to your
amp then the two wires to your new sub.
@ba1dwin thanks! no I haven’t tried an ipad or a touch but I am looking for
a way to use a psp screen for the back but will see I guess, also I have my
old laptop screen that I want to see if I can hook it up for the back as
well.
Awesome man. I have always wondered how to use my stock radio. Keep posting
sweet car videos. P.S. Please do a in dash install of an ipad or ipod
touch! I am in the process of attempting it. :/
Thanks for the video dude. It really helps. It doesn’t really seem
complicated at all. I just have a few questions. How long does it take to
do this?? 3-4 hours?? And what was the model number or place u bought the
subwoofer from?? I guess if i use a similar or same one as urs i will know
what to do as its the same. Plus i don’t want crazy bass … just decent
sound. BTW did the sub u install have an amplifier??
i like the box, perfect size for them. lol
The sub enclosure looks little different on the 2010 lancer. I used a line
out converter connected near the stock amp, power wire through the same
location as yours. For the remote I used the 12v/cig lighter fuse,
everthing else had power while the car was off. A few small differences
YouTube Mustang ipad install. Amazing in dash like stock; others that try
to take it out look like crap; but then lookup Motorized iPad 2 Install in
Silverado. This is awesome idea. I have always said apple needs to make car
head units because of how fluid their touch screen is. This is where my
ideas started. If you can’t afford an ipad and all the stuff to make it
work an ipod touch is much more affordable.
