Mercury Outboard Cowl Repair

Mercury Outboard Cowl Repair

s02e19

A slight accident damaged the cowl on my Mercury outboard. Rather than but a replacement part I decided to repair it and it has turned out very well. This video shows how I went about it in case anyone else has similar problems.

This was the first time I have used this glue. It is a polyurethane adhesive which maintains some flexibility when dry making it ideal for use in areas subject to vibration. I got mine on advice from the local hardware shop but it is available on eBay and Amazon if you need some here are the links (Amazon is a bulk buy):

Do you still have the mercury?

FLPanhandle Life says:

I left my mercury out in the sun , it made the plastic brittle and it broke all to pieces .
