Dear Captain stud,

All in all the 115 Opti’s are good motors. I know that some brands of the
DFI oil can look a little brown. I hope the previous owner didn’t dump
cooking oil in the tank!! If you question the oil, empty it out and put
fresh in. It will be cheaper than replacing the powerhead.

Tate Hay says:

I have a 115 that is making the same beeping when I turn the key on. If I
unhook the float the beeping goes away. If I check the oil level every fill
up why should I buy a new oil tank?

Orestus Sutherland says:

need help urgent ; i have a mercury 115 optimax there“s a beeping sound
it beep 3 times , when accelerate

Edgar says:

The Solution… O sistema funciona com uma boia e um ímã colado na boia e
com o tempo o ímã descola da boia e aí o sensor só marca nível baixo de
óleo. Solution: colar o ímã que é um anel preto na boia.

beeping off the hook, also I think it killing the throttle but can idle.

the magnet trick. Please Let me know what else I need to do. Thanks Ron.

Darrell Clendenny says:

dealt with this before

Captain football says:

Just bought used 115hp Optimax 2007 anything I should be aware of clueless
of these DI motors. Oil Tank is full and oil looks brown and maybe
contaminated? You do not think previous owner dumped cooking oil in it?
