Whats the difference in the 1995 models
The rear wheel bearings on your 2001 Mercury Grand Marquis would be
different. We currently do not have an auto repair video that shows you how
to repair the rear wheel bearings on this vehicle. If you have a Haynes or
a Chiltons manual, the repair should be covered in them. We carry the

The front wheel bearings on the 1995 share the same concept as the 98-02.
The tools necessary might be slightly different.
I don’t have ABS on my CV.. Could I buy the assembly for ABS seeing as
that’s all that you carry? Is there a way to take off the wiring for ABS?
Will the same procedure apply to a 2009 Ford Crown Vic Police Interceptor?
Good video but the 03+ Panthers do not require the 36mm socket. There are
instead 5 studs that hold on the hub and the bolt size is common. This
makes the job easier.

Unfortunately if you remove the wire from the wheel bearing, there will be
a hole in the bearing that will allow road dirt in. That will then
contaminate the bearing grease and destroy the bearing. You need to
purchase the correct one so you do not run into any issues.

You may be able to use some of the basic procedures to remove the hub on
your 2009 Ford Crown Vic. The size of the tools that you may need to use
would more than likely also be different. You would also need to check a
Haynes, or a service manual on the recommended torque settings for the axle
nut on that particular year. Hope this helps you out. Best Regards,

very easy job with regular tools you”ll do the job..thank you so much for
this video, i can wait to replace my bearings on my 2001 crown victoria.
Great instruct-able. My 00 Marquis used a 36mm socket available at most
parts stores. Came off no problem with a 24″ breaker bar. Just make sure
your vehicle is well supported (jack-stands; wheel chocks etc) and the shop
manual says 221 ft/lbs do not under or over torque. It also states they had
problems with reused nuts so pay the 5-12 bucks and get a new one so ur
wheel doesn’t fall off at 70mph.
