XxZombieKill3rxX says:

Jason Green says:

Everytime I get to the “choose zip from sdcard” I get two options. Lost and Recovery. But niether one show files in the folders.

Emmanuel Aranda says:

@rustypasta tell me what pops out when u try to search the device

rustypasta says:

Hey man, like the videos but I have ROM MANAGER and I can’t seem to find my device, is it cause the mercury just sucks or what? I hope you are familiar with this application and can help me out, thanks in advance.

bigdasu83 says:

No its the same. This rom is just a reworked stock rom. To be honest it was crap. There is nothing developed for this phone rom wise worth installing because the source codes have not been released from huawei. Only thing that’s worth doing is rooting so you can use root apps to remove bloatware, block ads, etc.

Austin Mathews says:

Lock screen any different?? Like is it themed like ICS?

sfjohn5 says:

does yours get hot at the bottom of the phone.when i watch one video on
youtube it gets hot O.O

bigdasu83 says:

You can download the necessary files on your phone but to install them you need the custom recovery and that can only be done by putting your phone into download mode and connecting it to a computer then replacing the recovery.img file in the image folder

bigdasu83 says:

unfortunately there is not an app for routing this device. There was an app called z4root that would root your device but i don’t believe it works on Android 2.2 and up. If you want to try it search 4shared.com on your phone and you can download it install and see if it works. May crash your phone may do nothing try at your own risk.

wanda vasquez says:

Or a file that I can download to my sd card

wanda vasquez says:

How do I root my phone without a PC. Is there a app that I can download to my sd card.

bigdasu83 says:

the rom is stable and doesnt cause any major issues so you wont have any bricks. far as batt life goes its really close to the same as the stock rom maybe uses a little more juice but just barely enough to notice the difference. there are some minor bugs with loosing data connectivity and using wifi. also mobile hotspot will not work with this rom so if you pay for that feature you will no longer be able to use it. i would say make a backup of stock flash this one and all patches then test it.

gamertagtjoker says:

how is this ROM as far as battery life, performance, and is it stable (for everyday use)?

bigdasu83 says:

For some reason the entire url didnt hyperlink you have to copy the link and paste in your browser i dont know why youtube only makes half the link clickable ive tried reposting it several times

latovia33 says:

could you please post a direct link to that custom rom i went on the link and could not find it i have it rooted and cwm recovery install the link is killing me

bigdasu83 says:

There are two others that are basically stock ROM replacements they are on the same forum

Jasmine Branch says:

Are There Anymore Custom Roms Other Than This One And The Stock?

bigdasu83 says:

Yes as long as you made a backup in the recovery screen just reboot into recovery go to backup and restore then select your recovery image you created before you installed this new rom. If you want Huawei launcher on the new rom then install on the new rom all you need to do is download titanium backup and do a backup of huawei launcher the magic light theme and any other system app you may want on the new rom. I recommend you backup the task manager and install it on the new rom

Jasmine Branch says:

Is there a way for me to go back to the huawei launcher or have my phone looking like it was before ?

bigdasu83 says:

I used iCe by xxnubcakesxx. just in case root and install titanium backup and then back up apps you may want on the new ROM. I kept the Huawei launcher and the theme, task manager, email app, task manager etc

Emmanuel Aranda says:

one more thing, can u tell me what rom u used b/c there is 2 of them.. thx

bigdasu83 says:

@rambonumerouno I have the how to root Huawei Mercury video if you need to know where to start

Emmanuel Aranda says:

thx i think ama do it

bigdasu83 says:

on the plus side you will have the data throttle from cricket removed, unnecessary files will be removed making it run better, carrier IQ will be disabled, there is more custom ability to your device when rooted, the list goes on. if you are interested do research and figure out if this is for you or not. jsut remember DO NOT install anything that wasnt specifically made for your device

bigdasu83 says:

to install this you need to make modifications to the stock phone which will void the one year factory warranty but thats why you make the backups of the stock rom, recovery image, and download the unroot.zip so you can undo everything you have changed. sometimes when you use custom roms you run the risk of bricking your phone but since you have the backups you will be able to restore the origional rom IF you are able to put the phone into recovery.

Emmanuel Aranda says:

is there any down sides to this
