I’ve always heard put it in gear when removing and installing the lower
unit back to the power head. So which is it? Leave it in neutral?
Depends on what you have. CamShift- types I and II need to be put it in
forward gear. E-Z shift stays in neutral. How do you tell? Put it in
reverse then try to move the prop by hand if it clicks or makes a
ratcheting noise then it’s a E-Z shift.
If you are going to make educational clips try to do the job correctly, you
fitted the gaskets in the wrong order. The new impellor couldn’t sit up
against the stainless wear shim because of the wrong gasket. Grease not
recommended on the rubber impellor either. Sorry.
And dont put it in gear!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I’ve replaced the impellar on the same motor last weekend. I put a bead of
RTV to seal the exhaust from the water pump cavity like your suppose to,
however I dont remember a little water coming out of my top exhaust hole
when it’s running now that is near the “pee hole”. Is this normal?
